EV cars why are so many ugly SUVs

Ah sorry I was responding to your orig9nal comment about all cars being designed simply for carrying stuff around. We'd all be driving old land rovers if that was the case. Cars could be designed with flare. SUV clearly can't as even maseratti, Bentley and Aston Martin have failed. It's sad that people sacrifice style for something overly big with a "high driving position"
Oh right, got it. No I was eferring to ease of gett9nig in and out of and a bit of boot space for the weekly shop.

The wife has the Citroen C4 Electric, gotta say it's an amazing car, I drive a BMW and I'm jealous of this car.

No offence but it has the old raised austin allegro shape so many ev's seem to have looks identical in shape to the volvo C40 as well.

I've been looking at electric cars a fair bit though many way too expensive for me - £60k for a 'regular' car like Kia EV6.. though MG4 looks very good at £26k a more reasonable new price.

The writing seems to be be that cars will get smaller, battery ranges shorter?! 100-150miles..

I've even read many 2nd hand EV cars have crashed in value.. TBH seemed to be in par with old 2nd hand ICE depreciation..

I'm not a fan of the big SUV style, looked at the Nio et5t & that looks awesome..

I’ve decided to look to buy a diesel or Petrol, cheap as chips compared to the hybrids and EV’s and less chance of spontaneous combustion from the batteries, quicker to fill up too, batteries will cost a fortune to replace if needed and I for one would not buy a 2nd hand EV for that reason alone. They are not emmission free either given the manufacturing and eventual scrapping process in years to come. Such a hassle recharging as well, Both Sunak and Starmer will push it back to 2035 anyway.

I agree on the nio et5t it looks pretty damn good. I'm not sure which ev prices are falling? The tesla model 3 yes because of the introduction of the model y and the fact they are actually making the three worse (removing the parking sensors) and I know the Taycan has dropped in value but its sister car the e tron GT has rocketed in value

Lots of EV tropes, mistruths and lies in a single post. Well done. Big oil will be proud of you for parroting them

Yeah I can and it really does make a difference. I've only used a public charger twice since February and both times were out of curiosity rather than necessity. I do about 10k miles a year.
That's really interesting. So many people are obsessed with range but it sounds like it's barely an issue for you. And you do plenty of miles

It's not for me especially with a home charger. I get around 230/240 miles on full charge and simply never do that amount in one journey. We've got a few days away in the Peak District coming up, and I'm not sure what the charging situation is like where we're staying, so this will be the first proper test in terms of public charging.

Might surprise some people but SUVs are popular because people like them. People like the size, the position and the way they look. Being electric or not is irrelevant. SUVs are what people want.

I'd be surprised if people like the way they look!

I guess it's a confidence thing. If you're not a great driver you want something massive to give you a false sense of security.

I love driving which isbwhynlwo and wide will always win with me over tall and thin.

electric cars have such great acceleration you would think there would be lots of spotscar versions

I can't stand them. They obstruct your forward view of the road if you're driving a car and god forbid anyone parks next to you in one of the larger ones cos you've got no chance of seeing past it to reverse out of a space.
I get that people like the higher driving position. Usually the one's trying to park in your boot on the outside lane of the motorway.
