And not the one that closed two years agoCasement Park? so we ARE using a GAA stadium, just not the one we expected
Not only could we host it tomorrow without laying a brick we could host it all in London without laying a brick.I think England has always used a fairly nonsensical claim that we could "host the tournament tomorrow" if needed, which doesn't carry much weight when the tournament is in 5 years time.
I didn’t know that but they have staged internationals inc tournaments before.Anfield can't be used because the pitch is too small to meet UEFA standards for hosting a tournament. And because the stands are so tight to the pitch they can't do anything about the pitch size.

They were always mentioned. There is a championship stadium (or will be) in there. Thats more of a surprise.Well 2 aren’t even built yet so maybe a little surprise.
1966 World Cup had one as well and a greyhound stadiumThey were always mentioned. There is a championship stadium (or will be) in there. Thats more of a surprise.
I don’t think it’s unexpected. The politics of the joint bid required at least one stadium in the territory of each of the five associations, neither Windsor Park nor Ravenhill are remotely big enough so it had to be a new build, and this is the only possible candidate that could be.Casement Park? so we ARE using a GAA stadium, just not the one we expected
Which Championship stadium? There is a championship stadium (or will be) in there. Thats more of a surprise.
