Euro 2028 stadium list named

No Anfield, no Old Trafford.
Well 2 aren’t even built yet so maybe a little surprise.

Not really. Most tournaments feature a few newly built grounds.
I think England has always used a fairly nonsensical claim that we could "host the tournament tomorrow" if needed, which doesn't carry much weight when the tournament is in 5 years time.

Maybe a little surprised not to see Anfield or Old Trafford on the list, but I suppose both cities have more up to date facilities.

Anfield can't be used because the pitch is too small to meet UEFA standards for hosting a tournament. And because the stands are so tight to the pitch they can't do anything about the pitch size.

I didn’t know that but they have staged internationals inc tournaments before.

Interesting to see Villa Park on the list. I've always thought of it in the same bracket as Hillsborough and Elland Road, stadia of a bygone era.

I am glad that they haven't just stuffed it with London grounds, like when musicians come here on a UK tour and do three nights at the 02.

Casement Park? so we ARE using a GAA stadium, just not the one we expected
I don’t think it’s unexpected. The politics of the joint bid required at least one stadium in the territory of each of the five associations, neither Windsor Park nor Ravenhill are remotely big enough so it had to be a new build, and this is the only possible candidate that could be.
