You could argue the same at club level with a Foden to be honest. A generational talent yet has started only 58% of league games this season and remarkably just 23% of champions league games!

Definitely! 23 now and doesn't feel he has taken his career to the next level. Maybe Silva and Gundogan moving on will give him his opportunity. Certainly didn't expect Grealish to be above him in the pecking order at City this year
 
Agree, and ironically IMO the same needs to happen to Maguire as it did to those players Southgate initially inherited, if we want to improve.
I believe he is in that replacement zone now. But it’ll likely be a two year transition to remove and replace. If we were to find a new Rio Ferdinand, then this is a squad capable of winning the World Cup
