England vs N. Macedonia

Surprised there’s no thread for this and it’s nearly half time!

Anyways, 3-0 up so far, much more entertaining tonight. Home crowd helps.

Saka is a lovely footballer isn’t he? Probably my favourite England player at the minute.

I've just said on the other thread that England are expected to spank the opposition and by a hatful of goals.

Most David vs Goliath matchs in international football seem to follow a similar pattern.

The minnows pack the defence and play with huge commitment for as long
Giants struggle to break them down.
Giants fans become frustrated.
Minnows start to tire.
Giants bring on equally talented subs, score 3, 4 or 5 goals, most of which come after the 70th minute, and win comfortably
Giants fans complain about unconvincing performance because it took time to break the minnows down.

Maybe Ireland aren't quite giants, but they're being held 0-0 by Gibraltar at half time. I still think they'll win by 3.

I haven't watched the game so won't comment on how both teams have played but I agree with what you are saying and always feel that Wembley gives these teams even more to play for. I would always play the so called 'lesser teams' at other grounds around the country.

Just looking at the other games going on at the moment.

Paddy McNair playing for N. Ireland, current 0-0 vs Kazakhstan.

Andraz Sporar, remember him? scored for Slovenia against Denmark.

Wales 0-0 away to Turkey, another player sent off as well.

I'm not watching either, but I think it's at OT tonight?
