End for Cummings ?

Can you imagine how toxic this will be if Cummings leaves and throws his weight behind Gove? The ‘leaks’ to the press aimed at undermining Johnson?
Wonder what sort of stuff comes out.
Get the popcorn in!

It Carlsberg did Governmental spats -

‘A government ‘source’ close to No. 10 has confirmed that Johnson was in Perugia meeting the Oligarchs son when it was claimed he was camping in Scotland.’

Followed by

‘Johnson has launched an investigation into the actions of Cummings and Gove as it’s been brought to his attention that they have been funnelling billions and billions of public money into the pockets of their chums, without competition. Johnson is said to be furious as he was completely unaware it was happening...’

Etc etc etc

It seems so far that Cummings continues in position.

As a civil servant I'd certainly sleep a bit easier if he goes. His plans for the civil service are mental (bar the odd good point).

However he's utterly toxic so from a political point of view (for anyone opposed to parties full of incompetent self serving millionaires anyway) him staying isn't necessarily a bad thing. He'll only do more damage to them by lingering.

Would not be surprised to see Hunt step in to any leadership challenge. After losing the last one (he did not stand a chance against "popular" bumbling Bozo), he cleverly refused a place in the Cabinet and quietly moved to the back benches as a run of the mill MP. Kept quiet, watch Bozo f.*ck things up as expected, watched the appointed Cabinet Members do the same.......leaving very few "Senior" options for any leadership challenge. Has he been clever and played the long game?

Jeremy Hunt seems to be doing a decent job as chair of the Health and Social Care Select Committee.

He's carefully criticised them at times too without creating too many waves. I think Hunt is another slimy pr*ck but compared to current cast of inept conmen he's practically JFK. Sajid Javid would presumably be in the frame too.

Assuming once "brexit is done" the requirement from some in the party for the PM to be a "brexiter" won't be quite as strong.

It's actually staggering to realise that Hunt would seem like a massive improvement over BloJo

The damage Cummings has has done is beyond repair, just not sure how it could ever get any worse, although I've no doubt it can. Tories never fail to displease, especially if you're up North. It's going to be even worse if it's North East, even going by the Tories own brexit predictions.

The thing is, a daft part of me kind of wants Cummings and Bojo to stay in place, as it might improve the chances of getting shot of the Tories at the next election?

All the names banded about in this thread as replacements for Boris make me feel sick (equal to Boris), other than maybe Sunak who seems to have some competence and at least he looks concerned when he speaks. The thing is, who would the racists vote for if Sunak was PM?

Surely not Gove, the drug taking, back stabbing hypocrite .... well second thoughts he might be a perfect fit.
