Yes!20 years to early for me, and is it really the way to go?
I'm not so sure anymore. You can get decent deals on, say, a Zoe or a corsa e. Also you still get the government grant. Also, assuming you're going to own you car for a few years you'll easily recoup any costs back with all the tax/fuel/service/repair savings you'll make. The prices of these cars are the problem.
When things get back to normal, I have to drive 65 miles to my office daily and then obviously 65 miles home, I then have other journeys that are around 100-150 miles each way, anything over that I tend to look at public transport and/or stopping over, is there an electric car that is moderately priced that can do this?I'm not going back to petrol/ diesel, no way.
I am sure there are better deals than this, but I've just looked at a Corsa and it is £330 a month over 36 months on a PCP and an initial rental payment of £1980. That is a lot of money for something you will never own.I'm not so sure anymore. You can get decent deals on, say, a Zoe or a corsa e. Also you still get the government grant. How much is a normal corsa? Factoring in the extra monthly costs?I am sure there are better deals than this, but I've just looked at a Corsa and it is £330 a month over 36 months on a PCP and an initial rental payment of £1980. That is a lot of money for something you will never own.
130 miles if I'm at the office, up to 300 if doing site visits. 2019 I did about 40,000 milesYou do 280 miles a day? Every day?
Here we go. Funny enough I always have a discussion on electric car and it seems everyone has a budget of £19000, does over 300 miles a day, needs a 7 seater and lives in mid Wales.I wouldnt go near electric at the minute. I'd never get a car I want for that money and I'm not prepared to spend upwards of £20k for a Corsa.
Petrol is alive and well and will be for quite some time yet.

Does your office have charging nearby? To be fair that's crazy high mileage so it may be tricky130 miles if I'm at the office, up to 300 if doing site visits. 2019 I did about 40,000 miles
Read a report a few weeks ago that said over the long term they are actually a lot cheaper because you are paying a lot less in maintenance. Don't forget maintenance is not just the monetary value but also the time spent having to get things done. One of the cars that I have is a hybrid and of course I still have to get the oil changed. I end up doing that by myself most times because I've had some bad experiences with places where I live where they haven't torqued the filter properly. The prices of these cars are the problem.
I don't live in mid Wales amd have a budget of about 30kHere we go. Funny enough I always have a discussion on electric car and it seems everyone has a budget of £19000, does over 300 miles a day, needs a 7 seater and lives in mid Wales.
What are you car requirements? There will probably be an EV for you
Yiu could probably get a kia a Niro for that budget, just. That's do.I don't live in mid Wales amd have a budget of about 30k
Not yet but there are plans. I think as you say for urban based mid mileage electric cars work, I think I heard the average car journey in the UK is about 35 miles amd for that electric cars are fantastic.Does your office have charging nearby? To be fair that's crazy high mileage so it may be tricky
Find an electric car that sounds great. Sorry I just realised who I'm talking to. I should have expected an idiotic comment from youNo I don't have a budget that high for a car I wouldn't want.
I like to drive a car that puts a smile on my face not a jumped up dodgem.
If I could afford a Tesla then maybe I'd consider it. However, I can't afford the equivalent of a second mortgage so its a no from me.
Find me an electric car that sounds great, hits 60 in under 5.5, is fun on the b roads and puts a smile on my face daily and costs around 18k which will be my budget. I don't buy brand new.
