EFL Debate - Sheff Utd or Boro

The comment that made it for me was if Sheff Utd are still in 2nd after the next 3 games. This is proper squeaky bum time and I’m trying my best to enjoy it but am still finding ways whereby we don’t even make the players.

I’m getting to old for this 🙈

The lads wont become embroiled in any of the speculation and "what if" - like us fans.
Michael Carrick said us fans have a right to get excited and so we should.
He`ll be doing the "one game at a time" approach.

Blades, on the other hand, have a Manager who`se blaming the opposition for his team losing games (?!!).
He has a rattled team who have been leaking goals and form at 12th in the table.
Even if we look at the last eight or last ten games - they are no higher than 10th.
Not really the form for a team hoping to go up automatically.

Added to that, there is the outside noise about finance and ownership and its bound to have an impact on their players thinking - especially when you are forced to train indoors, because the club has stopped maintaining the outdoor pitches and paint - to "save" money. They cant fail to notice.

Every game for us is a "cup final".
We`ve got seven games in twenty-eight games, starting Satda.

Although I agree with his 'Boro are the best team in the league right now'.
yeah 100% would not swap teams or squads but I make them 70/30 favourites to go up also I think with them winning there last two games and having the international break to re group their mojo could be back, although if they drop points Saturday and we win the doubts will return and it will be game on for us

It will still be in the balance on the last day of the season, Sheff Utd having to match our result to stay second I reckon, but who knows how both teams come back after the international break.

I thought Don Goodman talked sense in the clip actually. We're the horse coming up on the rails, but will the finishing line come just in time for the flagging lead horse?

I watched this last night and my biggest takeaway from it was that the 'experts' i.e. Goodman and Parkin seem to think Sheff United have all of a sudden bounced back and look like they are back on course... why? They *just* about managed a win over a poor Sunderland team thanks to an offside goal, sure the Mackems hit the post twice in that game as well. And then they won a cup game with a last minute winner, which really doesn't have much if any influence on their league form at all (as well all know too well after last season).

They were poor against reading too, I like how they used our games against Sunderland, West Brom and stoke as reasons for us bowing under pressure! They are games spread over 3 months.

I've done a league table predictor 4 times and each time i have us finishing 3rd. I try and force them to drop points, but cant just throw wins our way all the time and have them dropping that many points now. They've had an international break to reset and i think the results this weekend will be massive.

They weren't even great in that FA Cup game neither. Blackburn hit the post and should've been clear before Sheff Utd got their 2nd.

Won the game due to a screamer.

I couldn't believe what I was watching when they were saying Sheff Utd look like they're 'back'!

Well thankfully football is played on the pitch. Let’s see what happens

One bad set of results this weekend could change the whole perspective of viewpoints in an instant. I have to agree with that consensus and have in my head resigned myself to the playoffs. That way I wont feel so disappointed if we fail to overhaul the Blades.

I had us 2 points behind first time I did it and above on goal difference the second time. Need to do it again taking into account fatigue for them.

I did agree with Don Goodman with him predicting Sheff Utd not going up via PO's if they drop out the top 2.

I think it will be like Brighton the year we got automatic promotion with Burnley. The PO's will feel like a sucker punch to Sheff Utd and they'll feel deflated if they finish 3rd.

Ah ha giving yourself false hope. Top tip put us down to win every game and them to lose every game and you will feel great!!
Yeah i did it with us winning every game 5-0, and the teams in and around us losing to relegation fodder as often as possible, i felt amazing afterwards.
