If you are overweight and go out for a meal I doubt you’ll be getting salad for your main
Depends where you go.It doesn’t, but generally it does
Gives the middle classes 10 quid off steak and chips but a footballer has to persuade them to give free meals to kids living in poverty.
You couldn't make it up

Why male?Ah, at first I thought there was a shortage of male pornstars, and this was an advert
Where do you work Randy?Depends where you go.
Places like McDonald's and big chain pubs definitely unhealthy. Full of salt and sugar. Places like ours, scratch kitchens (where everything's made from scratch ) usually healthier as we can control what ingredients we use.
The Royal Oak.Where do you work Randy?
All a senseless waste of taxpayers money that could be put to better use and which only a minority will benefit from, and a bit of an insult to those who rely on food banks and who can't afford to eat out even at half price.
Complete nonsense. Another who thinks it’s to benefit the customer not the business and a sector that has a lot of low paid jobs. Without this boost you could find a lot of people in this sector resorting to food banks when they lost their jobs.
It’s not to the benefit of “the middle class” either. It’s the £35-£50 range which will see the most take up effectively bringing that price to £5 - £20 (That’s based on the times I’ve eaten out since restaurants/pubs re open for 2 and a 5 year old)... hardly middle class
it’s absolute win win for the business and the customer... it’s aimed at businesses to boost their sector and maintain what are reflectively low paid jobs. Anyone with an issue with this are solely doing it based on the government.
Randy is that the Royal Oak in Great Ayton? If so I’ve been there 3 times for Sunday lunch in the run up to lockdown....nice food if it’s the same one
It is mate yes. Thanks for the kind words. We've just launched a brand new menu too which we were due to launch the week lockdown started.Complete nonsense. So you'd rather have your taxes increased and more people using food banks then support a scheme that is only running for 13 days and potentially stops 3 million people claiming benefits? All a senseless waste of taxpayers money that could be put to better use and which only a minority will benefit from, and a bit of an insult to those who rely on food banks and who can't afford to eat out even at half price.
If the lower classes are using food banks then surely the scheme will benefit middle classes and above

Yes I'm also getting annoyed about repeating myself to those on social media whining about the deal only benefits a certain class of people.
You can get something off of a menu that would usually cost you £15 for a fiver. It's an absolute no brainer. We've got lots of bookings for August already.
The deal is for each person not a table so families will be able to treat themselves when they might not usually be able to. I see that as a great thing not something to be sniffed at.
Food bank use is a whole other separate issue.
So if you dont use a foodbank you are essentially middle class? I dont use a foodbank and know lots of people who dont. I and they would not class themselves as middle class.
No worries mate im sure we will be back in soon. Might even call in during August. The last 2 meals i had out came to £37 and £35. They were both excellent (the downe arms - castleton and the fox and hounds - danby) under this scheme it would have cost £5 and £7. That is literally ridiculous value.
You could essentially eat for free. Alot of places do 2 courses for £10. Central Park being 1 in redcar. So you would pay for the price of your drink... water if you like. Seriously suggesting that is pro middle class and discriminating against the lower class?
Cant take anyone seriously if they are to be honest
Nice deflection on Coopers question. So after 10 years of austerity the best thing they can come up with is a meal for a fiver in the fox and hounds in Danby.
Wow.
Is there not a minimum spend? So if you dont use a foodbank you are essentially middle class? I dont use a foodbank and know lots of people who dont. I and they would not class themselves as middle class.

It ain't what you think it is Coops. From the BBC website:*head in hands*
I see what you mean Randy!! Very frustrating
I wouldnt think so its automatically applied when you get your bill. You wouldnt kick a customer out for order 2 courses and a water any other time. Literally makes no difference to the business it essentially the same as customer passing a £20 note over
