Driving too Close to Cyclist offence

Bloody hell
I Dare not read all these comments in case they are unkind lol
I will let you know the outcome.
On a different note.
I just bumped into Neil Bauser on Carnaby Street.
Proper Star Stuck
UTB
Oh and I got my 4-1 Boro guess correct
First one ever like 😆
Close passes on cyclist will always get the cycling brigade talking as it happens so often to cyclist.
I wouldn't beat yourself up on it either way as you clearly thought you were doing the right thing in giving cyclists room.

I am sure I speak for all in that we are all waiting with bated breath to see the photo. ;)

It is a lie, and you go in to prove it by admitting that cyclists DO kill pedestrians. Interesting yiu don't say how many they injured by breaking the law.

2002 - 462

1,766 were killed by trucks in 2022 - where is the outrage? BUT CYCLISTS!!!

And thus proving my point. The simple fact is you CAN'T defend cyclists breaking the law without saying "but motorists"

Yiu can't, because you know it's wrong even if you refuse to admit it

".....the cycling brigade....." ?
You mean people who use bicycles.
Like calling drivers "the car brigade".
As if one brush covers all, in order to frame an argument.
Doesn't fit in with the critical mind.

This is an interesting episode of Matt Stephens "Cafe Ride" series - with Andrew Ridgeley [Ex-Wham] (y)

Cant beat a bike>>>>
SSAFA Holyrood House Edinburgh 2013.jpg
40 cyclists set off from Holyrood House in Edinburgh in 2013, to London, to raise funds for SSAFA.
500 miles in 5 days via Carlisle, Harrogate, Derby and Cambridge.
Finally ending up down The Mall and in to Wellington Barracks for sandwiches and white wine in the Officer's Mess.

Your figures are wrong in that small town asked how many were injured by cyclist breaking the law and I believe the figure you gave was for the total number of injuries involving Cyclist and pedestrians.

There is no suggestion that all 462 were caused by cyclist braking the law. many accidents are simply that accidents such as walking in-front of a cyclist.

Its difficult to find the exact number that relates to red light jumping but there was an article from cycling UK that said the number of pedestrians seriously injured from red light jumpers by cyclist was 17 this was over an eight year period so approximately 2 per year.

Ah, cheers Pete. @SmallTown so it is 2. Much like the deaths then! I won’t say ‘but motorists’ in this case, just highlight that so the dreadful crime of lawbreaking on a bicycle the consequences to pedestrians are super minimal. Not sure why people get their knickers in a twist.

In a totally unrelated issue I am launching a campaign of hate against bees and wasps. They are responsible for up to 9 deaths a year in the UK. This is disgusting and these flying criminals are getting away with it!!! I am demanding number plates on the insects and for them to be in possession of insurance. It is the only way to end this travesty.

I’m sure all those cyclists admitted they jumped a red light…

The lowest form of wit they call it. Still how did I expect a conversation with cyclists to go a social media. I honestly think, as far as obsession and how violently they defend their opinion it’s worse and more pointless than talking to a brexiteer. You’re never going to have an open conversation about things.

My mistake for engaging

obsession and how violently they defend their opinion
Its such a problem, their is a certain type of MAMIL roaming the streets giving everyone a good hiding and telling them its all the car drivers fault whilst jumping every red light doing wheelies in front of traffic and deliberately riding at 10mph 2 a breast to hold everyone up. You see it everywhere its a disgrace.

I had to google for it. I read it a while ago: https://road.cc/content/news/should-cyclists-be-allowed-ride-through-red-lights-298809

Turns out that in France and the USA cyclists are allowed to run red lights in certain circumstances. Not so stupid or dangerous as if they have kept the scheme it can’t be causing increased accidents or deaths.

Maybe your initial gut feeling suggests that it’s attitudes that need to change possibly? You didn’t even think that it might work, did you?
Wasn’t there a woman killed by a cyclist running a red light in London a little while back (yes I think he was riding a special race bike without brakes but the point stands, it seems a dangerous idea to allow it in my non-cycling, non-professional opinion)

Before I get jumped on, I do my best to respect cyclists re overtaking etc. I have no truck with responsible cyclists at all.
