Booooooooooo hisssssssssssssI mean you did call me a liar, but hey, it is what it is? Nasty Smalltown eh? boo hiss
I’ve notified Twitter did not happen hereJust back from my Friday ride, I got myself a mountain bike as we have miles of gravel tracks I can cycle on, unfortunately I do have to do a bit of road cycling to join them up.
On today's ride I had 2 close passes that would of received a naughty boy letter at least if I had photographic evidence.
The 1st was a school minibus a bit like the story earlier in the thread where they went for the pass but had to cut in due to a car coming in the opposite direction. The pointless thing was he got about 50 yards further up the road before turning into the school.
I also had a guy in a van sat right in the middle of the cycle path on his phone then further along 4 vehicles parked on the same path so I had to take to the road to get past.
So all in all a pretty normal ride.
I actually forgot about the women who pulled out on me on the cycle path forcing me to break she never made eye contact the whole time.I’ve notified Twitter did not happen here
That is the norm for any road user whether its a car or a bike. The roads are full of people in a rush and the highway code doesn't apply to them.I actually forgot about the women who pulled out on me on the cycle path forcing me to break she never made eye contact the whole time.
I dont feel offended if you believe me or not because I know anyone who rides a bike for any sort of distance will experience something similar.
It really is just the norm.
Finally, a sensible post, as you appreciate the law does not apply to me, could you pop along to Old Elvet in Durham on the 20th at 11.00am as some cyclist reckons my passenger was in the wrong to open his door to get out at the lights as this cyclist tried to ride through on red. There’ll be a free copy of road moaners weekly and a coffee at the nearby Flat White Cafe, Ta..

Yes. That's what happened..it was sent to Mrs BigUnit asking for the name of the driver.Am I missing something here? Wouldn't the police, by default, send the letter to the registered owner of the car, viz Mrs Bigunit?
Just happened to keep today. Close pass from a range rover (of course) who i then overtook as cars and buses got stick in traffic and then he goes past me again so close. Normally I'm not bothered as it's a 20 and fairly safe but the second issue is he was going WAY over 20.
I never thought I'd be this guy but I think it's time to start wearing a go pro for this stuff. People on the roads (bikes and cars) are definitely getting worse. More selfish, more nasty, more dangerous
That is utterly shocking. People are just horrible aren't they?My wife and 10 yr old daughter were out on their horses a couple of weekends back, a van driver flew past them on a narrow lane she made a slow down hand single, he stopped in front of them started calling her a stupid c*nt, she shouted back your supposed to slow down when passing horses and he replied with I’ll f*ing run you both over next time.
She managed to get his number plate and face on a photo before he drove off. Funnily enough to work in a village up the road from where our horses are stabled.
Yeah but horses don't pay road tax, etc etcThat is utterly shocking. People are just horrible aren't they?
I used to ride myself so know to slow down and drive very wide when passing horses. But it seems common sense no? They are big animals and liable to move a little.
Things like this just hsow how angry people are getting. It's horrible
