Driving too Close to Cyclist offence

The lowest form of wit they call it. Still how did I expect a conversation with cyclists to go a social media. I honestly think, as far as obsession and how violently they defend their opinion it’s worse and more pointless than talking to a brexiteer. You’re never going to have an open conversation about things.

My mistake for engaging
The reason we defend the position is the same reason you defend EV'S so vehemently, we dont want the disinformation accepted as truth.

Of course there are bad cyclist who jump lights or ride in an arrogant manner on the road but I can tell you I detest those people as much as anyone and I am confident I speak for all the other responsible cyclist .

As usual a thread about someone seemingly being caught breaking the law and who a few genuine questions has turned into a battle between cyclists and people who seemingly have a passionate hate for cyclists. And the whole point about giving cyclists enough space has been lost in the whataboutery raised by the people who have a beef with certain cyclists.

Its a shame really.

Nah you didn’t get brexit in…..

There’s so many idiots on the roads both in cars and on bikes. Difference is car drivers have to take lessons and a test then get insurance and pay tax. Cyclists do not.
Don’t get me started on cyclists on roads in the dark with no lights and in dark clothing or flying around on narrow FOOTpaths

That’s the crazy thing - these idiots in cars have taken lessons and passed a test and they still put hundreds of lives in danger.

It wouldn't be so bad if the taxpayer didn't have to subsidise the private motor-vehicle through the treasury.
My Council Tax helps to pay for "highways" in my City, so perhaps there should be toll-gates for those from outside the area who want to use our roads?

Did you know if you have contents insurance at home it will almost certainly cover you for 3rd party accident insurance as a cyclist .

I cycled along low and high lanes in august. Total nightmare. People giving me 2mm of room at 50/60mph. My bike is still in ingleby as I broke my foot and not been able to collect it. I'm going to cycle to Thornaby train station then train to gypsy lane and cycle the last mile home. Some idiots out there.

I think with smart motorway technology and possibly MOT records motorist’s mileage could be a determining factor on their road tax payment. I use my car a lot for work and would be willing to pay more than someone like my wife whose mileage is nothing by comparison.

Can it be that hard?

Disagree with that concept personally.

The road system costs the same to build and maintain whether you drive on it every hour or once per year and it is all part of a grid.

It is like the electric system, the gas system etc, the standing costs are the same no matter how little you use them.
