Donald Trump - another irrelevance if he becomes president

I’m no Trump fan and never comment on politics as I don’t know enough about it but I watched his interview with Theo Von yesterday and when not talking about politics I actually thought he was interesting and dare I say it quite affable!
Made me laugh whenever Theo called him “dude”.

It’s easy to paint him as a maniacal dictator but you don’t get as far as he has if you’re incapable of appearing reasonable at least some of the time.

I doubt the fainting was faked but it was an obvious opportunity for him to get some positive press and I’m sure that’s why he went over.

It's always a weird thing with this site. So many people who mention they like far right grifters always pretend they aren't a fan.

I'm no reform voter but...

Say what you like about Tommy Robinson but...

I'm always fascinated by the people who KNOW these people are filth yet still defend them

But you also have to temper that with he's a career criminal with fraud, rape, false accounting cases against him. He's also usually far more vicious than affable. He speaks in sentances that just trail..... as a way of sowing ideas into peoples minds, withou actually saying it and getting into legal trouble. He's a habitual liar, repeatedly fails to pay people for work done, is a repeated philanderer, was friends with one of the biggest pedos ever, dodged the draft with false claims of being unfit then hypocritically mocks veterans for their service, was actually unfit for high office but didnt dodge that, barely seems to have a coherent strategical thought, flip-flops constantly on his views on everyone and everything, and is universally loathed by honourable experts and academics for his falsehood peddling, unethical behaviour and alignment with the psychopath checklist.

@0:58 "For the first time in history we have a convicted felon running from president" - false

Eugene Debs, a socialist, was jailed for sedition (a felony) and ran for president in 1920 while in prison. He didn't win.
I think they mean as a main party candidate. He was a fringe party candidate, even more so than the conspiracy theory whacko that just dropped out.

Should I have made the same comment but without the “I’m no Trump fan” part?
If I understand it right you’re saying I like Trump? I said I don’t really know a lot about him because I’ve never been interested.
I just watched this podcast because it’s been one of my regulars for years and he was a surprising guest to have.

Third place, before he and his party was stitched up by the capitalists and one of the reason's the US is so backwards.

A bit like those people who voted Conservative under a Boris Johnson led Get Brexit Done banner.

I'm no Brexit lover but...

Fascinating. Wouldn't you agree?

Not really no. But props to you for reviving an ancient insult. Most of us have grown out of this ridiculous meme but you're sticking to it.

No it wasn't a personal dig as such. It's jsut a LOT of people on this forum who defend the far right, the bigots and the grifters always seem to say "I'm not a fan of...." before defending or praising them

Trump is totally losing it now.

He was just interviewed on Fox & Friends and was asked about Tim Walz's speech at the DNC.

Anyway, on the link below is a verbatim transcript of his response.

I won't post the whole thing but here's just a taste of it, where he starts talking about the US leaving Afghanistan. (Remember, this was supposed to be about Tim Walz's speech).

"And it was one of the most embarrassing decisions. Not Brian not the fact that we got out the way they got out. I was ready to get out, but I was going to keep Bagram. That’s one of the biggest air bases in the world. It was one hour away from where China makes their nuclear weapons, one hour away. Very important that we keep it. They left Bagram the biggest runway, most powerful runways cannot can handle the heaviest loads. This was designed billions and billions of dollars years ago. We gave them the keys. And now China occupies Bagram. We should have kept that. That was the one thing we should have stayed. Not because of Afghanistan, but because of China. And we gave it up. They took the soldiers out before they did. Soldiers first we left people we have to this day, we have people living there. They can’t get out. We 13 great people who I know the families, as you know, 13 great people killed 45 absolutely obliterated the arms and legs and hundreds of people killed during that day, people falling off planes, many people falling off planes from 3000 feet up in the air. That’s like three times the height of the Empire State Building. President Trump you’re talking about sad to see you’re talking to them to listen to.”

He's falling apart before our very eyes.

Sadly, Fox is doing the work to ensure that he gets at least 40% of the popular vote and the country stays divided. Their recent talking points have included:

- China has video tapes of Walz’s honeymoon night
- Harris would be “President Word Salad”
- Harris can’t last a full debate without making a mistake
- Harris has no substance/substantive policy positions BUT
- Harris/Walz are far left radicals who want free healthcare
- Biden Harris lied about jobs reports because revisions were made to the previous estimates (something that always happens)

Most of those make me think - projecting much?

He lives in a world of superlatives where everything his opponent does is just the worst, worst numbers biggliest problems, unliveable etc and everything he did was perfect, everyone says so etc

It’s just the same boring schtick over and over

His speeches must be written by those monkeys, when they are taking a break from writing Shakespeare plays.

It was a great Podcast, I enjoyed it. Theo had me bad laughing at times as he normally does, his Bernie Sanders one was brilliant as well

I met Theo after his stand up gig in Manchester in June, really nice bloke.

Awesome. I figured from your user name we probably liked the same stuff. I think I first got into him from his first appearance on Rogan years ago so followed TPW since day 1. It’s impressive to see him blowing up like this now!
It’s funny seeing a naturally funny person like Theo talk to Rogan, it just shows how forced Joe’s comedy is, most of Theo’s best lines go right over his head, same thing happens with Mark Normand.

Some of the stuff he comes up with has me in stitches. If it’s made up, it’s comedy genius. If it’s actually true, he’s led a mental life.
