Does anyone else accept we are in a relegation battle?

We're in a relegation battle as much as the top six are in a promotion battle in October.

Still early days, but its a real possibility we could still be down there come May given our current form - lets hope Carrick can pull us clear.

I am really worried we could go down.

A yes man appointed who took an age to decide.

A head coach bailed out by Neil Warnock as we were heading to league one at pace.

Never been so underwhelmed by an appointment.

Nobody else has ever made a move for him.

I think this is going to end in tears.

Papa Johns 7pm kicks off next season.

I think we are doomed.

I hope I am wrong.
Yes we’re in a relegation battle. Carrick is exciting, Woodgate as first team coach is a great appointment.

Neil Warnock as Carrick’s assistant?

Wilder is intelligent and experienced. Carrick seems intelligent.
Atm I can't see how things will improve unless his name attracts better players and we get them in. I think its quite likely we'll go down with a few good weeks in between. It's been heading this way for a while now and it won't be a complete disaster.
And Carrick will learn to manage with us, so we'll see whether he has it in him, and so will he. That's interesting and he really won't want to fail in his first management job. So, here's hoping it works and he sees us through this difficult time. He definitely has potential and doesn't seem an egotistic type. That's nice for a change.

Oh ye of little faith. I think we will finish lower mid table

it's a great challenge for Carrick but his name will attract new players, yet it depends on whether he can bring them in. He must also motivate those we have. CW obviously could not do that in his last few months. Possibly the players will play for Carrick given his status in the game. SG deserves some credit for bringing him in.

Still think we can get into the playoffs me!
Zero malice at all Al Mr allied, but I completely disagree.

We'll end up top third at very best. We are in a poor league position, with a very average 1st eleven and an unproven manager.

What do I know, UTB 👍

No. Not worried at all. We showed against Wigan what we can do. I know people will say, they were terrible but it’s still an indication as to what we’re capable of.

We just got rid of a manger whose tactical rigidity and reluctance to play to our strengths as it was incompatible with his ‘ideology’. Yo add insult to injury the bloke was a tart, a sulky disloyal tart.

A couple of wins and we’re back in the mix again. I keep hearing all this talk of us having no midfield, I’m not worried as most teams I’ve watched this season have been garbage!

A couple of faces in January in the right places and we’ll be a different prospect.

Chill the **** out. UTB!

No don't accept that we are in a relegation battle just yet. On current form (last 6 games) we are 14th which is better than both Sheff Utd and Norwich. We are in a position where a couple of wins can move you significantly up the table. We took 10 points from the first 11 games but have taken 7 from Leo's 5 games in charge a clear improvement. We are moving in the right direction. Not quite sure why there was so much negativity after Saturday's game. I thought they started quite brightly for 20 mins and then yes it went flat but it was far from the worst performance of the season. I think people had perhaps got too carried away after the 2nd half against Wigan.

I am feeling quite positive about Carrick's appointment and am optimistic that we will start climbing up the table. I think we will finish comfortably top half with outside chance of the play offs still. There isn't a team in the Division that is hitting the magic 2 points a game average so it's very open. I don't think the squad is actually as bad as some people would have you believe. They just need organising and motivating correctly.

Must admit I'm nervier than I was a few weeks back. We've got to instill confidence in the players, all the while adapting to a new system, on and off the pitch. It's a big ask.

The World Cup break comes at a good time I think. Will give them a month behind closed doors to work with the team. 1-2 wins before then is probably needed though.

I feel so underwhelmed by the appointment especially when it doesn’t look like any of his back room staff are coming. Feels like jobs for the boys once again, no doubt Leadbitter and Agnew will get a role somewhere

We surely can’t go down, this league is shocking this year even worse than usual, but it’s looking like another long grim season. I just hope we actually use this season to now build towards some kind of future for the club

Oh we’re definitely in a relegation battle. Look at the league table, the squad, watch any of our last ten games apart from the aberration at Wigan, we’re rank and it all looks like a relegation battle.

Recruitment’s been so bad for a year that I don’t have much hope that January signings will improve us. The loan players are good, but they’re on loan; we haven’t brought in a decent player otherwise and most of them aren’t picked anymore.

Also thing with a first time manager, you don’t know what you’re going to get, and they’re learning on the job. I’m neutral about Carrick tbh but a Pulis or a Warnock, you know what they’re going to do and would grind out enough points to keep us up. It’s unimaginative but a guarantee of sorts. With a first time manager, there’s potential to be really good but the squad he’s starting with is a bit of a shambles really.
