Does anyone else accept we are in a relegation battle?

1st half v Cardiff is when I thought we might be and 1st half v Blackburn confirmed it. Think we have enough to stay up mind.

I don’t think we are a relegation team, last 5 games have been mid table form, before that under Wilder he had somehow knocked the stuffing out of the players and we were only heading one way.

Are there three other teams in the league that are worse than us? I think so.

But, we are looking towards the *rse end of the league rather than the top. Yes, it's a long season, but (in my opinion) we are a bit in the chart.

I will be delighted when I am proven wrong. UTB 👍

Yes relegation fight is what we are in.
We are a mess.
And yes my club has got things badly wrong for a long time
I'm past the hugely disappointed stage.
Now I'm looking forward to the fight.
I like a fight.
Backs to the wall. Scrapping for every point.
It's all part of british football.
And it's beautiful.
I'm up for it
Come on boro.

The doom mongers are out in force (and that's NO surprise after that awful display on Saturday) but whilst it may take some time to improve our situation I think Carrick will have a positive effect leading to a climb up the league. Quite how he'll manage to improve our midfield is a major challenge. Right now I'll admit I'm worried because we're 4th bottom and the three below us are all capable of much more too. But there are also teams above us within one or two wins. Mid-table is two wins away right now. 4 away games out of the next 5 is a worry but maybe less pressure than being at home right now.

I absolutely accept it, 100% .. We are in danger of dropping and Carrick has his work cut out, to put it mildly

I am confident though, that we will survive this season. Now Carrick has been announced, we can get on with things, concentrate on the pitch and hopefully build the confidence of the lot of them.

With reinforcements where we need them in the Winter Window, (as long as we don't dawdle on targets as we have done in the past), I am sure we will stay up. If Carrick can manage to get us into the top half of the league that would be a great achievement for his first season IMO. I think we must have given him certain assurances regarding signings for him to take the job.

I know the same was said about Wilder when promising players, but his relationship deteriorated from the minute he flirted around Burnley last season when he had barely been here five minutes, so I think that is half the reason we were so slow about things in the transfer window during Summer.

We will soon see what happens, but we are certainly in a battle to stay up. I think we will pull away though and be OK. x

Who are the three team

Coventry beat us, Cardiff battered and we never laid a glove on Huddersfield at home.

How many of the squad were around when woodgate got sacked.

Will Woodgate be bitter and hold a grudge. He strikes me as that type of person.

Did Woodgate inspire the team before. Also he is coming in at a lower level.

It is an absolute dogs dinner.

We are screwed.

We've made a right mess of the season so far, and if I was a season ticket holder I would be extremely resentful of the fact of a season sold on pushing forward and looking at promotion now looks like being downgraded to 'steady the ship' float around midtable and look to 23/24.

I still don't think we know why Wilder lost the plot so badly, but looking back to last season every match we lost there was pointed remarks made about senior players which must have chipped away at all the early promise.

Short term its going to be tough, but we have the mid-season break with very few players disappearing for the world cup, so Carrick has a chance to get them in shape for 12th December onwards.

I'm not the most excited by Carrick, but I am more excited that there's a structure being put around him, so he's not having to do it by himself (which is what happened to Woodgate, for all his obvious faults, when he lumbered himself with Robbie Keane and others).

Big pressure on Scott, Bausor, the new head scout to get it right, quickly.

A very 'meh' appointment for me, but I guess we don't know what we are getting and maybe that's why.

Will judge how his team plays and when we know more about him as a coach.

But it's not a nice situation to come into for a new coach in the middle of a new season but at least it's not march and we have time on our hands for him to get going
