Djokovic v Kyrgios

Agreed that we’d like a 5 setter but Kyrgios doesn’t have the tactical brain to beat Joker, even though the Serb certainly has slowed down a lot from 2 years ago. Also, not much being said on this but if Joka wins it’s like pay back for the way he was treated by the Oz government.

Fair play to Djokovic. Shows how valuable that return of serve is.

Krygios has one of the best serves in the men's game and at times Djokovic made it look ordinary.

Probably the best player of all time, definitely the best returner of serve. NK didn't play badly, but you drop your level for a second against the likes of Djokovic (or peak Federer/Nadal) and you've lost.

Judging on the way he behaves it Wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if Kyrgios has got a form of ADHD or something similar.

Course it may just be that he’s a rude Aussie but who knows?

Possibly the behaviour of a narcissistic personality.

I would be kinder in saying it’s how he reacts to pressure and that he uses the nervous energy to spur himself on.

I often snap under pressure in the workplace. Because I can’t keep a lid on it. I’m certainly not narcissistic. People think I’m rude but so bloody what.

I said in a different thread, Kyrgios will never win a slam.

100% of the required talent, 0% of the required temperament.

I think it's just how he is and how he copes on court. Doesn't seem to put him off, often seems to fire him up if anything.

A lot of players probably feel the same as him, but have learnt to keep a lid on it. Apparently Federer was a right brat as a junior. It's (usually) a waste of energy and distracting. Most players want to remain utterly focused. But for a rare few it seems to work a bit.

I remember Sampras talking about playing doubles with McEnroe in Davis Cup and how he couldn't believe at one of the change of ends McEnroe was still chuntering to him about some line call that occured a few games previously 😂
