Disappointed at our lack of signings pre season

We've brought in what 6 transfers already? I think we are going alright considering there's still a few weeks left plus the loan window.

If we brought in 10 players in the first 3 weeks of the window and they turned out gash, I'm sure the same posters pushing for quick transfers would be on here saying we rushed it and didn't look at the whole market blah blah blah. Have some patience and trust in NW. We want players who want to be here, want to play for the manager and are ambitious in their own progression as a player. If that takes a little extra time to find than it's worth it.

I wouldn't go as far as as saying he's invaluable but we should always try and keep hold of our best players of which McNair is. The first half of last season he was brilliant and with better players around him hopefully he can push on again this season. He has many positive attributes and is so versatile. You need players like that in champo especially with a small squad like ours. Why on earth would you want to sell McNair!?

It's a load of nonsense that getting business done before the start of the season is important.

3 fairly recent seasons spring to mind of examples of this: the Summers of WGS and Garry Monk, and AK's PL season.

Loads of early business done, but awful on the pitch each time.

So I don't think doing business early makes any difference. However, if you do get it all done early, your fans will still be outraged if you don't do any deals on deadline day.

I would have thought it was a good idea for all the new players (especially the new players) to get some game time before there are points at stake. Maybe they'll all gel at the first time of asking. Or maybe Warnock will be still trying to work out his best team in October, 8 games into the season.

Instinctively I think we'd all agree; my point is that there is very little evidence that getting the players settled in before the season starts makes the slightest bit of difference.

Anyone we might sign will have had his preseason at his current club.

It looks like nearly everyone is in the same boat though - pretty much right across the league. Clubs are working with very limited budgets, nearly all having to make big cut backs. It is going to be a tricky start to the season for us but we are not alone. Fulham will be far better prepared though - with their parachute money. We might have to keep calm after the first game..

I agree, let's not throw our toys out the pram if we lose by a few against Fulham, no excuses for the relegated sides not to finish top 3 this season.
