Dele Ali

He was definitely worth all the hype a few years ago a brilliant player for Spurs and England obviously something has gone badly wrong assuming it is mental thing either attitude or is health. Another strange one was Daniel Sturridge at Liverpool he could not get himself fit or motivated but was also brilliant on his day it is shame hopefully they are both content though and maybe just footballer stardom was not for them, more important things in life

too much too soon, think he burnt himself out and just not there mentally,

joining on that everton deal careerwise was a big mistake for him, I supose getting a contract for 2.5 years at 100k a week was great, but the terms of the fee always meant if he did not hit the ground running with full sucess he was never going to get any games.
free transfer with terms that could charge you 40m lol. ok it would odds on never be 40m, but first 10m after 20 games, its no surprise he only got 13 appearances.
He would of had to pull an ace out the bag during a relegation fight for them to let him play game 20.
no surprise he out on loan.
Everton completly had spurs eyes out, but the fact they agreed to this deal says it all about him being a player.

that documentary with him having Mourinho having a go at him will of done him zero good too having a conversation like that out in the open.
I don't think he would of had that convo had he thought he was doing all he can, so guessing they some sort of mental block there.

His turkish clubs manager has been quoted saying he hasnt met their expectations, so not sure where he goes from here, dont think he has it in him to drop to championship and put in a shift for a season or two to get noticed again.

I think he had a really bad childhood and also had few issues through his career with his behaviour, if I had to pin something on it I would say maybe that you could maybe pin it on him having home invasion and being robbed at knifepoint, as the season before his games and goals looks great then the next season after the attack nothing seems the same no more, he wouldn't of went through that if it wasn't for football, so maybe he's been sick of it all, wondering if gonna happen again, but what else can he do and maybe going through the motions and picking up a pay cheque

the interview was painful to watch.. looked like he needed an arm round his shoulder and a bit of protection.

I think he's got a bit of a bit of David Bentley about him. I just think he's fallen out of love with football. It's pretty hard to understand for us.

He maybe just doesn't like his 'job' anymore.

I always think of Bentley scoring worldies with his left peg for Blackburn. A right baller (as the kids say😂)

Sometimes players just lose it. Confidence rather than desire I would imagine has a bigger effect. Fernando Torres was another. His form had massively dipped before the Chelsea move. And yet they still paid 50million for him.

We couldn't get him, realistically. Wages would still be impossible on the deal he will be on.

We don't really need a troubled soul in the dressing room either. I doubt he'd be rubbing his hands at the prospect of us.

Hope he finds his form though. No, from me.

Probably doesn't help that his position doesn't really exist. He plays in the hole but not as a creative player and nobody plays that anymore. As a midfielder he's not good enough and he isn't a striker so he doesn't really have a role. He's not good enough to build a team around either. It worked for him under Porch where he had no defensive duties and Eriksen was going the creative work, he was a deep striker.

Then there is the attitude/desire/work ethic as well which he seems to be missing so it's never going to work for him.

The rich man's Ravel Morrison?

Not for me; application without talent will usually beat talent without application.
Has anyone seen the 'Captains' doc, about a number of team captains and their respective counties efforts to qualify for the last WC?

Anyway, Jamaica is one and there's a section where their captain and senior players effectively blame Morrison and his attitude for the teams poor results!

It all went downhill for him once he launched that fancy hand manipulation on an unsuspecting world.

He was a cracking player and if we were a premier league team I would take a chance on him with the money we had coming in..
However in this league" a chance" would still totally blow our budget so it's a no for me.

Why do people need to criticise his character, earnings or anything else. They know naff all about him personally and there really hasn't been rumours about his attitude.

Maybe his has some personal issues or its just not going for him at the minute.

He was a cracking player at his peak
Because - believe it or not- it’s a message board where people express their opinion. You disagree? That’s your prerogative.

Don't know if it's sad. I mean he's a multi millionaire in his mid 20s and has already achieved more in his career than the vast majority of pros. Bit of a waste of talent maybe, but I wouldn't say I was sad about it.

As others have said not the first and won't be the last player to see their career nosedive. At least he's made a fortune from it. There are plenty of others who ended up in worse positions.

Michael Johnson at Man City, remember him? Really struggled mentally and just doing a really ordinary job now I think?

I doubt Malcolm Christie envisaged himself ending up as a car salesman while he was scoring goals in the premier league either.
