Rice stats compared to Rodri or Casemiro aren't that great, neither is Caicedo.

Reported than Man City not willing to match Arsenal's bid.I think Arsenal will walk away now. Can’t see them paying more than 105 mil. Think City will come in with a bid today to blow Arsenal out of the water and that will be that.
Hope I’m wrong, I think I’d like to see him at Arsenal.
Rice could make Arsenal much better so the fee becomes worth it. Was Grealish really worth £100 million when Aston Villa sold him? He is another quality player, but perhaps not worth that.So it appears City have refused to match the bid - were they involved purely for mischevious reasons? £105m is one hell of a lot of money given Maddison (a different player, but an extremely good, young English, Premier League midfielder) is going for £40m. I rate Rice, but would I want my club spunking £100m on him? Maybe not.
That's exactly it. Rice would make Arsenal better, City made Grealish better. Bear that in mind when comparing the price tags...Rice could make Arsenal much better so the fee becomes worth it. Seems that way to me. Eni Aluko got slaughtered for suggesting something similar on the radio but to me it looks like she wasn't too far wide of the mark. Price driven up for Arsenal limiting other transfer activity, and more pressure on Rice to perform due to the price tag which suits Man City, West Ham look to have received a fee that's way above the odds so their fans are satisfied, Arsenal follow through on signing the player the fans wanted. Everyone wins (for now)So it appears City have refused to match the bid - were they involved purely for mischevious reasons?
That isn't what she said was happening though. She was saying Arteta had spoken to Pep and asked City to bid for him to try and force Arsenal in to trying to get the deal done. Which I see little to no logic in.Seems that way to me. Eni Aluko got slaughtered for suggesting something similar on the radio but to me it looks like she wasn't too far wide of the mark. Well if West Ham were holding out for another bid to see what the max they could get was, Man City coming in then pulling out shows them what the market value is and nudges the deal along. Had Man City not had a sniff about West Ham may have still been holding on to see if anyone else was interested or Arsenal board may not have been willing to up the price a little. Man City being interested may have been enough to persuade the higher ups to shell out a little moreThat isn't what she said was happening though. Exactly. One Rice is worth two and a half Maddisons. Bonkers. So it appears City have refused to match the bid - were they involved purely for mischevious reasons? £105m is one hell of a lot of money given Maddison (a different player, but an extremely good, young English, Premier League midfielder) is going for £40m. Yeah, that is absurd. Unless its all part of some serious mind games by Pep. Maybe letting them go 8 points clear was all done for the same reason. That wasn't what she said though.
She said Man City were putting offers in HELPING Arsenal as a favour to Arteta, by putting in offers it would force Arsenal's board to get the deal done.
She was rightly ridiculed.
