Reports that Arsenal are prepared to go over 100, to get their man. Yeah,he's a tidy player, runs around to good effect, but the clamour to get him surprises me, especially from City, who have Rodri, a far superior player imo. He has to prove he can affect the game more in the final third to justify that price tag for me.

I did one of these about Rick Astley yesterday. Mixed reaction.
As for Rice, he’s a good player, one of the best in his position. £100m is just the going rate I guess. That said, I don’t think he’ll end up at the Arsenal.

Arsenal need to improve. Declan does that, rather than gambling on an untried foreign lad. If Arsenal really want in the mix then they need him.

Rice is a quality player who will be even better in a better team. His reading of the play is excellent, athletic ability to cover spaces better than most, stamina incredible, short passing accurate and he can cover the wide midfield areas brilliantly to allow a full back to push on.
I hope he goes to Arsenal, as he would just make the Man City team even more dominant.

Its crazy he will cost more than Bellingham - who I think is head and shoulders above Rice, much more of a complete player.

Silly price but Arsenal fans expect him now so the club have to deliver + Man City being involved in the bidding drives the price up. Personally I'm not actually convinced City want him but it suits them to drive up the price Arsenal have to pay

You do get this over-rating of England and London players in particular.
Rice is tidy and is a presence in the midfield because he is physically large but the best thing I can say about him is that he’s better than both Phillips and Mount.

I think he would be a perfect fit for Arsenal and just what Arsenal need. He's a huge improvement on Partey and Xhaka.
