Different positions, 2 years younger.

Rogers is a 21 year old forward who has 4 goals in 61 appearances in the Championship.

Wharton is a 19 year old defensive midfielder.

Can't blame the lad for wanting to move , I'm sure x4 salary increase plus hometown club is a factor alone. Not including his 'footballing ' ambitions.
If the fee is double figures up front, then can see why we take it.
Three months ago he couldn't get a start in the great run in the league.

£10 million up front with a further £6 million in add ons feels like a decent deal to me. He'll probably be worth more in the future but a couple of months ago most would have let him go for £5 million.

The way i look at it, it decreases the chances of Hackney needing to be sold. So i am happy with the deal just need that striker in.
