Deadline Day

How many more signings do you think we will make between now and deadline? I’m gonna be a negative Nelly for once and say we will push for plenty tomorrow but end up with none. I hope I am wrong as midfielders are a necessity

I definitely think we’ll see one or two in, possibly in midfield where we need another CM, who can add experience. Upfront I’m not too sure if spending maybe £10m on a player will necessarily improve us immediately. We have so many new players it’s going to take some time for the coaching staff to get the players we’ve brought time to get acclimated to the style of play, roles and team chemistry. It’s going to be a difficult season I feel.

You rarely get a good deal on deadline day. I don't understand this mindset we seem to have had of waiting to see who is available. Any player we want we are going to have to pay over the odds for because teams don't want to lose players if they don't have time to spend the cash. The only options are the odd reject but are those players really motivated to come to us? Doesn't look like we'll be spending any of that £20m.

Not to mention, we're clearly desperate for players so we ave no leverage. We are going to have to just overpay for what is available or be stuck with our squad that isn't good enough.

None that will improve us - probably another prem project kid in midfield. We seem to have given up on bringing in a genuine goal getter

Coburn out on loan , surridge in if that’s a genuine link . The Brentford midfield plus a desperate lucky dip 3rd .
We might be better off just keeping coburn

Christ I hope you are wrong, but fear you may be right.
It seems clear that the Club are going to end up with a massive transfer surplus this summer, a huge £22.5m FFP boost (when all seems very positive on that front anyway).
The wage bill and amortisation will be lower, revenue up, and the club will make a profit this season that they will choose to use to pay back some of the intra company loans to Gibson O'Neill.
All that is absolutely Gibson's prerogative of course, but I personally feel he will have thrown away an opportunity to get to the PL (and take away his need to fund the Championship losses) in a season where we had a decent base and needed some first team quality to get us out of the weakest Championship for years.

I really didn't think he would do that in these circumstances - and hope he still doesn't.
Back the manager Gibson, give him a chance.

I’m all for continuity but we are desperately short in mf. We badly need to rectify what we have lost.

It’s like being stood on the deck of the titanic and cheering for the iceberg.
Agreee, but he's talked about strikers then brought in a project in Hoppe, I dont really have confidence that his next signing will knit all the team together

The CB's we've brought in, established championship CB's & we still look so weak, maybe his next signing will be the best & all important one but as results have gone against us, conceding goals on a regular basis, how many players will he bring in to fix the problem & whe havent they been sought after until now

Gibbo needs to back him

Selling tav so late on and not giving him the funds to replace him (Thus far) is a worry.

Hoppe isn’t his signing I think that’s obvious.

I'm not sure it would be a good thing to spend any more. We're already a lot of points off an auto place.
The loans this season (Giles, Muniz) are dead money as they won't be here for a push next season. I'd prefer to keep the funds in the bank for a go next season. We have plenty to keep us up. We should be giving game time to permanent signings to have them ready for next season. And next season do the transfer window correctly.
