I don't think anyone is suggesting that at all. We have a tiny squad, with only one recognised left and right back.

Spence is a brilliant player. He be playing in the premier league within a couple of years.

We need some cover and back up though.

I would take Daniel Johnson from Preston as well.
 
PNE have lost 2 players this week. They seem to be selling off anyone who's going out of contract. They have a couple of other regulars linked with leaving for peanuts.

It's not an option moving ours on due to wages.
 
Solid signing a decent depth. Spence had been pretty poor recently.

Diedhiou is the one I want, he’s better suited to our style than any of our current strikers.

I’d be trying to swap Britt for him. Akpom, Diedhiou, Gayle and Watmore as our strikers next year if we are still in this league.

I think Spence is better utilised further up the pitch tbh
 
Preston certianly losing some key players. Pearson went to Bournemouth, Fisher coming to us by look of it, and Davies has signed a pre contract agreement for the summer to join Rangers. Talk Daniel Johnson may do the same or leave this window too

Its all about opinions I suppose, but I see nothing in Spence thats inspires confidence to say he improves the team no matter how we set up.
Poor in possession, gets dispossed to easily and definitely cant defend at this level never mind the premier league.
 
Spence can play as wing-back in a back 5. That is all.
If we aren't going to play this system I'd suggest accepting a bid for him if it came in.
Who knows, if Fisher comes in perhaps this is already on the cards?
Certainly seems odd to bring in a right back when Djksteele has had such a storming season - and is due back very soon.

Guess they rejected new contracts offers from Preston then. Hence why they're going elsewhere. Daniel Johnson is a good player and also a penalty merchant.
 
It's a shame with Spence. He's had 4-6 very good games as a wing-back, but to me whenever he plays at full-back he looks like a wide midfielder 'doing a job' there without looking convincing. Equally when asked to play further up, he looks like a full-back trying to play as a winger.

He has a lot of great attributes, but seems to need some intensive coaching and more experience in one position for a sustained period.

Oumar Niasse? I saw twitter rumours other week from my timeline that the player want to play for Rooney. I'd take him at Derby hahaha. But again anyone can create make up story these days.

We're really light on defensive cover especially with Halls record. So it makes sense, Fisher can cover Dijksteel and Dijksteel can cover at CB too.

We started the season with only one first team left and right back in my opinion, which is a bit crazy, but Coulson and Spence can sort of cover in an emergency. But this signing and Coulsons lack of minutes suggest Warnock doesn't think either can be relied on.

Warnock said he could be Prem or non league. I know where my money is at the moment. He needs to improve massively

I'd be willing to bet it was his agent trying to stir up a bit of interest, turned Warno down in search of cash in the middle east.

You never turn Warno down if he comes knocking (if he did) 'Wayne Rooney's Derby County' has as much pull as 'Jonathan Woodgate's Middlesbrough' - his stock has went further down since the start of the season 19/20 he managed he minute here and a minute there as Everton ran down the clock in a few draws. Scored two goals for the U23s but was in a the teams beaten by Fleetwood and Crewe.

I doubt very much he will be wanting to be kicking his heals missing another full season effectively.. maybe he's finished at this level. a free agent and nobody has snapped him up yet.. plenty of time to work something out by now.
