Danny Rose on loan

Possibly a minority of 1, but I reckon that signing Rose would be a nightmare.
There's a reason he hasn't been snapped up before now and I think that Warnock is too smart to be signing this liability at no cost. Boro have built up a team spirit and that is not DR's thing.
I think it's more that he is a big fish in a little pond type of character. Put him in with the other egos and he struggles mentally to deal with that.

He's a former England LB. So I'm stunned a prem club isn't in for him on loan or even a perm on the cheap.

You'd think a Burnley or West Ham type would fancy him. He does come accross as a bit of a tool. That said many footballers do. I'm not fussed if they do it on the pitch and don't wreck a dressing room spirit.

Whatever happens we have 2 days to get in a CB and probably a forward if Fletcher is crocked. After 1700 on Friday we have what we have until Jan.

He can't move to a Prem club or abroad now. EFL or nowhere now until January.

You’d think it’s just a matter of time before he’s spotted at rock cliff then or Hel be training with spurs reserves unless their terminate contract this week

He is a bit trapped now - its looking like Championship or nothing for him. There will be a few players at each Premier club in the same position.

Add in some Championship clubs have hit their cash limit and the choices are very limited for Rose if he want to play regular first team games in 2020. We have reduced our wage bill significantly in the Summer (Ayala, Friend, Gestede, Clayton, Shotton, Morrison replaced with Hall, Akpom, Morsey).

I'm not sure he's that fussed about playing. He could sit around until Jan and get a perm move or a prem loan.

He doesn't appear to be publicly bursting doors down to play. You'd think his club and agent will have let folk know he's available for the past 2 months.

To be fair, on the documentary looked like he hated not playing but suppose that could be for the cameras.

He'll likely never play for England again whichever team he goes for, a left back in the Championship is not getting picked.

Even if they terminate his contract he couldn’t go to another Prem club until January. As has been said above, its the EFL or he’s stuck at Spurs.

He's publicly stated he will be glad to finish his career as sick of racism / media pressure and football politics.

He also openly said spurs can't force him out and he will happily run his contract down and leave got nothing. That's why whenever he pipes up on twitter you see loads of comments saying 'if you don't enjoy it the pack in' (the censored version😂).

He just doesn't seem that fussed about playing. Then again he went to Newcastle but was pretty injury prone.

He's clearly a massive improvement on what we have. I just don't think he's one player I would throw big money at as he's a LB. You'd think 30-50k a week would be better off spent on two loans (CB / CF).

I know mate I have seen him say all that, but I think he is still passionate about getting game time. I just don’t think he likes everything else about with what comes with being a footballer apart from the money. But I do think he is someone who if isn’t a starter you lose very quickly. Obviously that wouldn’t be the case here as he would walk I the side. For what it’s worth I can’t see this happening anyway

Apparently still owns a house up here from his first loan in the area from his Sunderland days.

Could he join the list of players to have played for the Mackems, Geordies and the mighty boro? Let’s hope so

According to the Northern Echo we won’t be pursuing the matter.
They say he is too expensive for us.

Thats fair enough,

But Boro must have been aware of that anyway.
I suspect the phone call was made and dismissed as a possibility straight away.
Shame really but it was always Just a pipedream for me.
Somebody else might snatch him now.

Think we might still bring a couple in tomorrow though.

We would not spend over £30k a week on him thats for sure - we could have got Ben Gibson for £28k plus £2m, but he was too expensive

"someone might snatch him now" - The only Championship clubs paying that sort of money are the ones that have just come down. - Norwich, B'Mouth or Watford.

I'd like to hear from the wise and clever Alan Hutton why he thinks Danny Rose is not in Spurs Premier Squad and why no top flight club in the UK or Overseas wanted to make a serious attempt to buy him or loan him this Summer?

He is obviously damaged goods at present and playing in the Under 23s will likely make the situation worse and make it more difficult for him to get a contract in the Summer fo 2021.

Danny Rose has become a classic "Money Ball" player i.e a player with current ability that top teams do not want.
