Danny Rose on loan

Well if we can pull this off I would be impressed. His career derailed somewhat due to depression and a family tragedy, hopefully he is in a better place. A fresh start may be just what he needs, playing under a great man manager like Warnock would be a good move all round.

It would be a fantastic signing. Watford almost signed him last summer and their fans were all wetting themselves with excitement. I won't be going that far, but he would be too good for this league.

Loves a bit of the North east this fella . Don’t see it happening like but would be buzzing if it did

He would be an excellent signing if it happens, Spurs haven’t given him a squad number so anything they get contributed would be better than nothing, I would imagine another club would be prepared to contribute more than us though.

Middlesbrough have been linked with a shock move for Tottenham left-back Danny Rose who is free to leave North London in the final few days of the transfer window.

The 30-year-old is surplus to requirements at Spurs and wasn’t given a squad number in September after returning from a loan spell at Newcastle.

Rose, who has also played for Sunderland earlier in his career, is said to have held talks with Italian club Genoa, yet a deal is no longer possible following the end of the European transfer window.
West Ham were also interested in Rose back in January, yet talk of a move to the London Stadium, or even a return to Newcastle, has quietened.

According to Football Insider, Boro are plotting an ambitious move for Rose who may now drop down a division to play first-team football.

Signing Rose would obviously be a big coup for any Championship club given his experience and international pedigree.

Yet the 30-year-old left-back is into the final year of his contract, meaning a loan move wouldn’t appear to make much sense.

Boro are also well stocked at left-back, with Marvin Johnson, Hayden Coulson, Marc Bola all natural options, and light in other areas.

It was therefore also a surprise to see the Teessiders linked with a loan move for Chelsea left-back Baba Rahman last week.
Boro boss Neil Warnock has admitted the club have looked at signing another centre-back due to a lack of options in that position.

Sums don't add up unfortunately, he's on serious money and we don't have much of that commodity anymore.
Would be outstanding though.

It's been years since we've had a random and out of this world link😂

I'm sorry but this simply can't work financially. He's on over 100k a week and you'd think at a very minimum they'd want 50% payed (probably more).

Just two days ago Warnock was saying how skint we are and he didn't even want to ask for money. So 48hrs later I don't see him going into Gibson office saying ' can we sign Danny Rose? '😂

Also if by some miracle we had 50k to spend on wages I'd be looking at bringing in two or 3 (a CB and Forward at least).

If we did pull this off we have had a pretty sensational window really.

a cb and a forward would be nice aswell

Would be genuinely gobsmacked if this was true. It would be an outstanding signing. Head and shoulders above anything else in this league, and he'd run the left side by himself.

Not that it makes THAT much difference, but I'm sure I was reading a while back that he was 'only' on £70k per week, and one of his gripes was wanting to be on the same wage as the highest earners at Spurs. Unsure if he's signed a new deal since I read that however.

The things going for us would be the fact when he went to the Geordies, he was so clear that he wanted to be back up North, closer to his family (Donny/Leeds area?), and just to enjoy life and playing some regular football again.

Hats well and truly off to all involved if this somehow happens!
