Daniel Sturridge pundit for Sky Sports

Already got Micah Richards being a bit of a clown. Don't need another one.

Maybe I'm a bit old school with my punditry but I would rather pundits analyse a game and highlight teams failing. Criticise teams when they should be criticised. Not clowns on there having a laugh and a joke.

I want to see professional opinions. I want to see pundits challenge managers and challenge each other.

I can see why the like of Keane and Souness might be disliked particularly by the younger generation and maybe their outlook on the game is a bit dated but I don't see younger ex-players having the same passion that they do and quite frankly don't have the same intelligence and knowledge of the game.

He’s an embarrassment to anything and everything that is possibly British and perhaps the sport in general. I really don’t get his antics and I’m not too sure if it’s relevant for the game or so called punditry that he does so many childish stuff. Basically the guys a clown and maybe just needs a red nose to confirm it.

Sturridge has some kind of anxiety or something I believe which is why he missed so many games "injured" - maybe that got worse as time went on to extend beyond playing

TBH I find much & many of the so called expert & ex-pro comments, hindsight & tactical insights to be garbage & would prefer an option to just have stadium noise & no commentary & personalities..

I tend to mute half time & end watching at final whistle..

I’m finding myself just turning the game on as it starts and turning over during half time more and more these days.

I don’t even bother to watch the post match unless it’s a Boro game.

I don’t mind the EFL pundits though to be fair.

2 main problems with football analysis these days.

1. Too much time discussing VAR and refereeing decisions in general. Criticising refereeing decisions isn't a new thing, Andy Grey was a nightmare for it, but the amount of time spent on it has definitely increased with the introduction of VAR. When it should really decrease the amount of discussion around refereeing decisions if it was effective

2. Teams are on TV so often that pundits run out of things to discuss so they end up just waffling while trying to avoid making the same observations as they made the previous six weeks.

I watched around 10-15 minutes of the analysis, both pre and post game last night and it was embarrassing to say the least.

Sturridge seems incapable of saying anything vaguely interesting or insightful, he was being "tee'd up" by Carragher (hardly the most lucid of personalities himself) and just kept agreeing "yep", "he's great yeah" ad infinitum.

I'm clearly not the target audience but as a product it's awful. Do people genuinely enjoy stream of conscious ramblings with absolutely zero substance? I guess "bantz" creeps in occasionally, but it's hardly Pete and Dud.

I wasn't impressed with the fact he doesn't wear a suit and tie.

In fact none of them did

I only caught a small part of the pre/post game, but I thought he was pretty rubbish again. He just doesn't seem to have the football intelligence to be able to provide any meaningful analysis of a game. His outfit was absolutely shocking as well. B&Q just called and want their work trousers back!

Think that's been a concerted effort this season to move away from the 'stuffiness' of suits and ties. I remember Neville putting something on Instagram around it at the beginning of the season. Seems like they're trying to go with a smart casual mates down the pub vibe.
