Dan Barlaser

He's the best boro midfielder I've seen for a long time at finding space in tight areas, passing and moving and never gets flustered etc. He is extremely tidy/ great technique and his passing ability and range is unreal.

Not sure how it's going to work with him and Hackey mind, I suppose they're competing for the same place/ position and Howson and Mowatt athe other.

We're still going to need a Howson replacement unless we can coach Hackney and Barlaser into better ball-winners.
If we were to play the three of Barlaser Hackney and howson instead of two in the middle the opposition would have to ask for the ball back there would be more triangles than a dairylea factory. Really excited by Barlasers quality last night looks a fabulous technical player

Akpom, Ramsey, Forss, McGree, Hackney, Fry, McNair, Smith all missing and did not make the pitch.
Howson playing out of position.

Yet we dominated the match.

Regulars Lenihan, Howson, Archer, Giles and Steffen all did very well and stayed fit.
The lads who came in were all excellent.
Dijksteel, Mowatt, Barlaser, Crooks and Bola all did very well.
For me Dijksteel should play now.
Mowatt and Barlaser complimented each other well.
Sure Bola gave the ball away, but also made some fantastic passes from a very unfamiliar role.
I was so impressed with how we dominated yet another game, against the team that will finish third on their own ground.

I love what Carrick is doing.
Christ I missed the player I wanted to swoon over most. Jones has come back absolutely reborn. I thought he was fabulous for over an hour. At times he was as good as Ive ever seen him for us.
He has given Carrick yet another selection choice.
Akpom and Archer pick themselves.
But if fit, he has Ramsey, Jones, Forss, McGree for 2 wide places, with Hackney able to step in too if required.
We have great optiuons.

Put three in the middle and the opposition would reveal in us having fewer outlets. We've seen Howson drown in midfield when we've filled it, far better with space and outlets

Very encouraging performance from him. He always made himself available for the ball and looked to move the ball about quickly.

Couple of times he dropped the shoulder when pressed.
