Damn you Corbyn

Corbyn was pro brexit though by the way do not sure your point on this yes he campaigned very Luke warmly for remain but is widely acknowledged with in
Labour circles as being a pro lexit as the left dubbed it.

It’s fair to say that for the majority of his political life, Mr Corbyn has been less than enthusiastic about the EU.

In 2015, he told Reuters that he voted against Britain’s membership of the trade bloc’s forerunner, the European Economic Community, when Labour Prime Minister Harold Wilson put the question to a public ballot in 1975.

And his scepticism continued as a backbench MP.

In 1993, he described the “great danger to the cause of socialism in this country or any other country of the imposition of a bankers’ Europe on the people of this country”.

Three years later, he railed against “a European bureaucracy totally unaccountable to anybody,” lamenting that “powers have gone from national parliaments”.

No that's not my point. I was jus pointing out another failure of brexit. But also predicting it'll be blamed on Corbyn, or Covid, or Cows, or anything that isn't Brexit

You can’t blame anyone else than the Conservatives and the people who voted them in. They cocked the country right up.
You can blame the people who voted for Brexit, and who's illogical, bigoted and blind faith in the process makes it impossible for any political party to successfully oppose it.

You can blame them, you should blame them and I do blame them.

I’ve got to agree with that, but it is the fools who voted them in the first place that allowed them to have a referendum and the bigger fools who voted for them again, which allowed them to push the country off the cliff.

The country is knackered through the Conservatives.

This might be controversial but the issue is not about leaving the eu and never had been the issue is about how you leave.

stay in the common market
Joint a nationwide consensus
Do this don’t do that

As the referendum was too vague and too broad simple

vote in for ever at what ever the cost

or

vote out into oblivion.

but one thing that wasn’t vague though was that every vote for this Tory govt was a vote not just brexit but a hardline anemic brexit that would hurt millions and set this country back decades

That was never in question.

the people at fault are the people who voted the torys in
Yes, it's clearly not the people who support and voted for brexit. What an absurd thought that the people who voted for, and proudly support, a political process, aren't responsible for the effects of it.

Brexit has now reached hitherto unknown levels of insanity whereby people continue to support it blindly, and defend it with venom. Yet blame other people for the damage it is doing. Thereby implicitly acknowledging that damage.

It really is bizarre. I've never known a group of people so proud of something they did yet so desperate to disown the affects of it. It's just weird.

wasn't it reported that Corbyn voted remain in the ref though, largely because he didn't like the fact that leave wasn't defined well and didn't trust the Tories to deliver something that was for the betterment of the people.

I think he accidently found himself on the right side of history.

Of course it is the people who voted for Brexit fault, but the people who voted for the Conservatives in the first place must also shoulder some responsibility. This allowed David Cameron to think he was more popular with the voters than he was and he gambled with our future. It won't impact on him, he is rich enough that it won't hurt his pocket, but it is already impacted on our lives and will continue to do so. Things are going to get very hard for us all. The common man in the street fell for the Brexit lies and voted against the establishment. None of this would have happened if the Tories had not been put in power in the first place.

You and I have been down this line on many occasions and I know we will never agree, but you need to shoulder some of the blame for Brexit.

We haven't been down THIS line to be fair. I never voted for a Tory government who proposed a brexit referendum. So I won't shoulder any blame for that.

It's more the craziness of brexitists blaming everyone else. At least this means they tacitly admit there is the need to blame, they unwittingly acknowledge the problems it's causing.

According to some on here,if you vote Tory you are responsible by proxy because you put them in office, having never voted Tory I'm in the clear, feels good.😎

Corbyn ... campaigned very Luke warmly for remain

Bogus. More campaign appearances than any other politician. If Corbyn's campaigning was lukewarm, what was Cameron's? The Lib Dems? Alan Johnson's? His was so lukewarm nobody ever remembers now that he was put in charge of the Labour Remain campaign.

Given what we know now about Labour staffers sabotaging from within, and how the 2016 leadership coup against Corbyn started the weekend after the referendum result, it does beg the question whether Alan Johnson was intentionally sacking it off...?
