Crowd vs Hull City

When you go to a midweek game its not like you have time to wander around the area normally taking in the local scenary and culture. The Boro is easy to get to for a midweek game from Hull, probably easier than a Saturday 3pm this time of the year. Free travel too. 800 to 900 fans is poor. The Riverside Stadium is a good night venue. This season has been a reasonable season for Hull - two good away draws recently at Sunderland and Blackburn.
How much are we charging them?
I think people are feeling the pinch these days

I’ll be there if that helps calculate the attendance.😎
Hill fans attendance will depend on the tide times for work.🛳🚢

Shows the complete ignorance of people which is pretty common. I'm not from Middlesbrough I would defend it to anyone. It's better than most similar towns in a lot of ways and the football club is an absolute beacon and compared to a lot of other clubs a real gem for the town.
Ditto my friend!

It also shows that people just form opinions without really knowing anything. They read or listen and that forms what they think on pretty much anything.

I use to work with a bloke who moved to Yarm for work purposes. He couldn’t believe the Teesside area had some stunning places. He’d only ever heard it was an awful place to be.

Middlesbrough itself has some lovely parts of town. Granted there are some not so nice parts but most places are like that.

I’ve lived and worked in plenty of places all around the U.K., Teesside is no better or worse than any of them, good and bad sides to every town and city.
Exactly. I was in Nottingham recently. That is a city and area with some clear issues. There’s no heavy industry of course, which has been an easy target used against Teesside over the years.

To be fair to away fans, the location of the ground doesn't help, neither does the walk to it from the railway station, and the town centre is pretty dismal unless you know what you're looking for.

Very poor numbers from Hull, especially with free travel! They have never brought any great followings up here for years , even tho we nearly always sellout the full allocation at there place 👍
They have nothing to play for, it’s midweek and on sky, and it’s probably the most they will pay for tickets all season

The walk from the station is a great deal better than it used to be, before the construction of the uni and the walkways (though these need some attention). The difference is exempt by the dodgy looking ‘Bridge’ pub becoming Inn Off The Bar, which is a great deal more salubrious.

Last time I looked Old Trafford was in an industrial estate with chemical works quite nearby.

Ayresome Park was surrounded by houses.

It doesn’t matter if the media want to run a place down.

24k home tickets now gone from the available blocks online.

Should be a similar crowd to the Stoke game if Hull bring 500+

The fifteen minute walk from the station is less than most away grounds.
More of an issue might be the availablity of trains home midweek .

Middlesbrough has a terrible reputation nationally, often undeserved, but it does.

Outside of football, it's largely only ever been in the national news for negative reasons in my lifetime.

It's always quite depressing reading opposition match threads and just seeing the town and area being slagged off.
I agree. Which is why it was so refreshing to have the Blackpool fans' report on our town

.

I think it could definitely be better sign posted for the direction to the ground.

I actually quite enjoy the walk from the station to the ground, but it's not an immediately obvious route.

Bit disappointed with the turn out given the quality of football we are playing, but we are FLYING…bring on the playoffs
it’s not that bad, sheff utd 26,000 just when promotion is confirmed. We’d be getting atleast that or more if we still had a chance
