Covid Jab invite...

I was asked to book appointment 2 immediately after appointment 1. April was the first appointment available. They offered me a 7am one, but I booked for 11.

Have ppl booked 2nd jab at same time as 1st? My NHS letter says I can on the NHS website but my doctor's say I can only book the 1st jab with them as they don't know when they'll be getting enough vaccine in future. If that's bad administration or reduction in vaccine to Manchester I don't know
Yes, I got asked to book 1st & 2nd on the website. Same venue as well although you can change venues if you want.

You want the government to pay you the cost to travel for a potentially life saving injection?

Count yourself lucky they are in a position to offer you one, not many people across the world are as fortunate.

It is essential travel, and it is helping the country head towards getting us back to some kind of normality.

The mind boggles.
Probably what he wants to the Government to stick to their promise that nobody will have to travel more 9 miles to get the vaccine.
But as usual hardly fuc# all will be coming to Teesside with most of it going to Geordieland. Not to mention the half that was cut from the North to divert to the South.
Where is our Major vaccination sites like the ones at Newcastle and Sunderland.

From personal experience my wife was given the vaccine at her work as were all the staff and all of the residents, even those in the lower age groups that haven't been invited to get them yet by letter. My wife's grandparent's went to a GP surgery in Acklam.

My parents had a short 10 minute drive to a special local clinic. And they live well away from the main towns in the North East.

Given the OP is in a vulnerable group, do they need to provide special medical support perhaps?

Tried again just now, got an option for Acklam pharmacy, however couldn't book it through the website as the only options available for the second jab was in Leeds 🤦‍♂️

I had mine at work on Wednesday along with most other staff, quite a few declined. The Dr said the next one would be in 11-12 weeks but made a ' in joke' between him and the nurse " if we have the vaccines". I haven't had a reaction to it ( AZ) but apart from me and one other guy, everyone else had bad aches, fevers, blurred vision and 1 asthma atttack, that's about 40-50 staff. They give you a little card with the batch number on and date of the 1st jab and a link to report any side effects, no one is bothering. I was expecting side effects, after all it is a immune response.
