Coronavirus good news thread

Fabio, I love ought like this amid all the doom & gloom

I stumbled across this guy and he’s kind of a big deal. I’ve been keeping an eye out for him and am naturally extremely hopeful with what he is potentially going to announce soon.
Aside from that, he’s just an interesting person to listen to at the minute, and seems to be fairly positive about treatment developments. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

New research from Germany... (source Telegraph)

"Many more people may have been infected with the coronavirus and acquired immunity than previously thought, according to a groundbreaking study in Germany.

Scientists studying the town at the epicentre of Germany's first major outbreak said they had found antibodies to the virus in people who had shown no symptoms and were not previously thought to have been infected.

Initial results released on Thursday suggest as many as 15 per cent of the town may already have immunity — three times as many as previous estimates.

The findings suggest the mortality rate for the virus in Germany is just 0.37 per cent — five times lower than current estimates."

Let's hope the Porton Down study finds similar results and that they are released sooner rather than later.

In another study on monkeys, researchers found that infected monkeys, once recovered, did not get reinfected when exposed to the virus a second time. So it seems likely it is possible to develop at least short term immunity after exposure. (Source University of Minnesota - Michael Osterholm).

The good news pretty much everyone around the world is working in a vaccine.
My project at work has lost a few labs because they’ve taken them over to test the virus.

I wonder if we, during Brexit transit, are getting any or expected to donate and not get any in return.
It'll be coronabond issues to fund this by member states (not us). There will be arguments how it's spent though. The smaller, poorer countries have generally managed the epidemic quite well, whereas the costs to Spain, Italy and France will be astronomical.
