Conor Hourihane

Great signing for Derby. I'd have had him here as an addition to the squad... but I wouldn't put him ahead of Crooks or Tav.
 
They seem to be signing a lot of players who have had a Decent profile. I wonder if they’ve paid their tax bill?
 
Done nothing over the last couple of seasons, a couple of years ago fair enough, but very much in decline now.

Which is why he'll be playing League 1 next season.
 
Another older player, 32 in February.

We resigned Howson who we know and played above Hourihane last sseason.

Decent signing for Derby, surprised they can afford his wages - my guess is around £12k to £15k/week.

Do they still owe money to HMRC?
 
Surely he’ll still be commanding a few quid in wages along with McGoldrick (who I assume chose Derby over us)

Obviously gambling on coming straight back up (suppose it’s to much to ask that Wycombe beat them in the Play Off final)

All 'names'. Yet one's you'd have had 4-5 years ago. I imagine they are a decent pull in league 1. Yet sheff wed and Sunderland show 'names' and 'support' mean little.

Mcgoldrick is saying he's turned down more lucrative offers. I'm not sure if it's aimed at us?

Yet I'm pretty sure we would have offered him a shorter contract and less game time. It's an easy thing to say 'I've signed for you for less money'. It's definitely not for that reason. 2 years and starting every week more like.

I read somewhere that we did make him an offer, but it was more of a "squad player" offer. Derby will have guaranteed him more game time.

Are you mad. Literally only 8 weeks ago he came on and clinched the game for Sheff Utd against QPR in the game we were all praying for them to lose, to ensure they'd be above Boro in the table.

The season before that he was a major factor in Swansea finishing top 6. Then seasons before that with Villa. He's exactly the type of player we always let slip to other teams.

Derby have a wage limit for new signings. They can offer a maximum of £8k per week as part of the exit from administration regulations.
 
I'm of the understanding that we never actually made McGoldrick an offer as he would not sign for less than two years, club wouldn't sign that off for a player his age.

He's signed a one year contract at Derby.

We offered him a squad player role but couldn't guarantee him the game time he wanted.
