Cleveland is officially the UK's most dangerous place.

What will voting Labour change? Law & Order has declined in this country over a period of decades under both parties.
Oh the old false equivalence argument.

If it’s got worse under the Tories then it was better under Labour.

Labour figures were largely better than the previous Tories by the way.

Of course one of the key problems we have under the Tories are the number of police officers.

A second issue would be the underfunding of the judiciary system which has actually led to strikes in that sector. Another ‘benefit’ of tory low tax ideology

have a look at what happened to police numbers from 2010 onwards and then tell me there is no link between a Tory govt and an increase in crime.

then have a look at the budget for criminal justice during the same period - again, theres no link at all is there???

Spot on, why people ignore the readily available facts just to keep a prejudice going I don’t know. We’ve had a decade of under funding in those two areas that has seen increased crime. It’s not rocket science. They’ve recently put a bit more money in but in real terms and per capita compared to 13+ years ago it’s still a good 10%+ down in real terms

Doesn't surprise me. Always felt more dangerous a night out on Teesside than Liverpool or Manchester. Those city areas have a lot more people and more rich areas than Teesside so on average the economic prosperity is way higher. There is more crime where there is more poverty so there is bound to be more crime on Teesside. All this really says is Teesside has been neglected economically more than any other area which is something most people already know.

The Conservatives have been in power for 13 years, I don't understand how people can still try to "both sides" it.
They are responsible.
Given that this thread was essentially a digital Labour flyer complete with hashtags, I thought it would be good to know what Labour plan to actually do about it, which is why I asked it as a question.

I don't disagree with you, people just need the solutions.

I disagree with the more dangerous comment although agree with the poverty, don’t get me wrong Stockton, Middlesbrough and Redcar are pretty rough and you need to keep your wits about on a night out as some p1ssed up knobhead might want to try and fight you and there’s a few about who might try and rob some people, that said I feel safe (I say that as a 16.5 stone heavy built 6ft1 bloke who can handle himself) mind. In liverpool and Manchester the scum bags are carrying it’s a different kind of threat, it’s not even the one in front of you that you need to worry about it’s the tw6ts sneaking up on you while their mates are trying to distract you.

Teesside, Liverpool and Manchester are the 3 places I've spent the most time on nights out. I think the reason Teesside seems worse to me is that the sort of people that like fighting etc all tend to end up in the same place. When the choice of place to go is limited as it is in a small town then the chances of not running into the d***heads is much lower. Liverpool and Manchester it is easy to avoid the trouble causers by going to one of the other 100 venues. I've seen far more fights on nights out in Teesside than Liverpool or Manchester (I've seen as many fights in Newcastle on a handful of nights out as I've seen on the hundreds of nights in the other places).

The bigger places have more students and tourists as well which seems to dilute the number of trouble causers (not that they are all innocent but it always seems to be the people that see themselves as protecting some sort of territory as the worst offenders).

More police:

The solutions that Labour are offering are out there in the public domain. Please don't be lazy just posting "what is the solution" when the solution is readily available with a 3 second google search.
