Well my neighbours won't cancel anything. Every day through each lockdown has been party central, so I expect even bigger and bolder celebrations come with the birth of baby Jesus day.

I have seen reports about it everywhere but the only thing they have quoted direct from the government is someone saying all restrictions etc are always under review. Certainly doesnt suggest that anything is due to change

Does it matter what's announced, the majority of people will have made their plans already based on previous gobbing off.

They seem to have been 'softening' us up for this for the past day or so. The odd minister being interviewed and pointing out that you don't have to do it, that it's all down to your common sense, be careful etc. The Germans and the Dutch have showed the way. With the scientists making their views known, let's hope the government sees sense for once.

On a personal level I'd reduce the household mixing period to 2 hours.

This feels too late - if people have already made plans they will just ignore the regulations, meaning they become unenforceable

I've read on this page 'celebrations' and 'revelry', well some of us just want to have a quiet Xmas lunch with family, some members we haven't seen since the turn of this horrible year.

I thought that said Whitby there for a minute I was confused. Some glee, the problem you have now is people have made plans and spent money in doing so. I just think we will have a longer lockdown by undoing all the good work by going crazy at Christmas!

Completely agree - I get to very few games and that match is the highlight of my holidays.
