Chris Wood

Kieffer Moore £5m fits the bill , or Adebayo £3m ,from Luton , either way, you get a similar version for a lot less than half the price. They might buy both.
Good shouts. Would be classic Burnley signings. Wood way better than both though.

Giving one of their main rivals for survival, a £20M cash injection well before the end of the window is the level of how little the Saudi's understand football.

I trust Dyche to use the money as a rod to beat the jawdees with.

Marvellous business 😂
20 million will get you nothing in this market. Think it’s relegated Burnley though which we can all be happy about

In an ideal world they go for Bereton-Diaz, but can’t see Dyche being that exotic
Only 6 months left on his deal too. Would they sell to a Lancashire rival when in a promotion charge? I think they will take a gamble and he may leave on a free at season end if they don’t go up. Then again if Burnley come in with a bid I’d say around 15 mill they may be tempted

I didn't know that about his contract, big gamble by Blackburn if they decide to stick but it's their biggest chance of going up since they've been in this league

1 year option that Blackburn have exercised, contract til 2023.

Bloody good signing in my opinion, scores goals, big, strong robust and already settled in England. Someone has their head screwed on.

Got mixed feelings on this. I've followed Woods' career closely as he's a Kiwi and have always wanted him to do well (yes, even when at Leeds). But if he does do well he'll probably keep the Northumbrian Basket Case in the Prem, which is something I don't want.
Oh well, I hope Woodsy scores a shedload but they still get relegated.

This really could make or break their season.

One the one hand he could be an astute signing that covers for Wilson whilst he’s injured and then compliments him when he’s back.

On the other hand, Wood is hardly in great form and so if he doesn’t hit the ground running and the money gives Dyche the necessary funds that allow him to refresh his squad and potentially pip Toon to 17th.

Wouldn’t be surprised to look back in May and think that was the signing that decided the season for Burnley / Newcastle.

It’s fine having money in the bank but finding a striker who can score goals at PL level in mid season is going to be very challenging for Burnley.

It's a good signing for Newcastle. Wood has score 10 or more goals in the top flight a few times. This is the type of player they need for their current position. They are at least 3 or 4 years away from being able to attract the big glamorous names.

I read mersons article on this and he makes a great point|: without wilson theyre fuc.ked, even if they buy wood and he scores against watford and they win but he doesnt score for weeks, its worth it given whats at stake.
