Chris Wilder

I've got no problem with signing players to develop with the potential that we could sell them on. It's very risky when you fill a whole strike force with them. We're crying out for a David Nugent of today to come in and offer a bit of experience to help these guys and be a go to man when the chips are down.

I'm cautiously optimistic that this will be an exciting season, no doubt it will have its fair share of ups and downs, but ultimately I think we will be challenging at the right end of the table.

But, like you say, the season hasn't even got a full head of stem up yet, so there's no reason to press the panic button and in reality these early games always promised to be a mixed bag, both in terms of results and performances, until the window shuts and we have the players in that we so clearly need.

There's a lot to be optimistic about, we have a bit of cash to spend, we are investing in a higher quality of player than for a good fews seasons now and we have a manager that demands success.

The ingredients all all there for an exciting season.
Tell ex footie legs that!! Too many doom and gloom merchants on this board, five games gone and we’re doomed. Jesus!!! Wait till you’ve watched Boro for over 55 years then moan. Yesterday was a the worst game, the other four could have gone either way. The sloppy defending needs to stop but otherwise let’s keep positive. Sometimes after reading certain posts on here you feel like hitting the bottle or slitting your throat😂😂😂, please and you know who you are, have a rest from negative posts, if you can’t think of something positive to say then say nowt until there’s something to be really worried about.

Having a go at other posters isn’t being very positive. Maybe be positive instead?

I can only see that we have;

Not won in 5

Conceded more than any other team. 9

Second bottom.

We play some nice stuff at times but look very fragile and weak.

How many games is it till people are allowed to question and have an opinion? Why are concerns negative? Should we all be foam hand clapping along?

Never saw the point in foam hand clapping, and what’s not positive about me being able to voice my concerns about the negative comments five games in or would you like me to agree with their sentiments and wish for the worst??

Picking out a list of negatives, without any context, is I think what that post you replied to was getting at.

We all know it's been a mixed start, but in balance, the first 8-12 games were always likely to throw up a mixed bag of results, until the xfer window shuts and the new players bed in.

We've looked decent against Sheff Utd and West Brom, the former are the form team so far.

You can see we are on the verge of having a decent side, with a few positions needing reinforcements, especially up front. I said before the Stoke game that Akpom currently makes a huge difference to us in attacking areas, so his injury has been huge I think.

So it's not entirely negative i dont think, despite your post and I actually thi k there's a lot to be positive about.

Who’s wishing for the worst?

Doncaster, everyone is entitled to their opinion- you are entitled to yours.

I don’t get to too many games and was looking forward to it - genuinely excited. It was the biggest anti climax and am sure I am far from alone in this.

We didn’t perform at all. Indeed results wise - surely the most important yardstick- we are going backwards. Wilder has to start getting results- and there is nowhere to hide.

I really wonder if he will see out the season. I was ridiculed about a thread I started claiming we were undercooked for the season by not getting our targets.

I do stand by that. On yesterday’s showing it did appear we are way, way off getting a winning side together.

Agree, we’re not playing as well as many would expect and yesterday was a setback, however the other four games could have gone either way so at this point I fail to see what the worry is, Give it at least 10 to 12 games before hitting the panic button. I also don’t begrudge people having an opinion as long as they accept others don’t always have to agree with them

Needs to be balanced though with scored 7, been very unlucky with ref decisions in 3 games, still building our team, been heavily punished from half chances.

The balanced view is, yes we need a proper brute of a CB because Bola isn't good enough, we will dominate possession all season, our striking options have been chopping and changing but we now have one of our 2 first choice strikers in to build around, our wing backs do create but we need a bit more from CM. I would argue with anyone that says we are the worst team in the league, because we are not, but we do need to toughen up a little and do what other teams do with sh!thousery when a goal up

People have concerns. Wilder will have concerns.

No one is wishing for the worst.
That’s your opinion and I respect that. However posters like ex footie legs have definite issues with Wilder therefore I believe wish for the worst ie Wilder sacked, we all have certain concerns but too early in the season for sackings

Got it (y)

I'm giving him until Sunderland if we fail to beat Sunderland though he should be sacked on the spot as that's simply must win
Your generous, it feels like the majority of the social media brigade were being like crier babies before the first game . This has to be one of the most negative fan bases we’ve had in my life time . What a pack of tarts 👄💄💅

My word, that's some take. If we were playing terribly and getting these results then maybe I'd agree, but we're not
