Central heating on yet?

I’ve turned my thermostats down so 17.5 from 19. It hasn’t kicked in yet. Would have been on a few times if it was at 19 so means I’m building up credit

Had the log burner on once, not touched the heating yet.

I am continually amazed by the infatuation of some with keeping the house a similar temperature year round - we live in a temperate climate, it's supposed to be cold in winter and warm in summer? I understand a boost if it continually drops below zero but know people who strive for c20 degrees in their property, baffles me.

That said we lived without any sort of heating for two years when we moved into this house so I think I'm maybe getting used to it now.
You’re amazed that people want to have their house at comfortable temperatures?

Yes it’s cold in the winter and warm in the summer outside but we live indoors, ideally you want to try to keep the indoor temp and a comfortable level whatever the weather. You work hard to pay for necessities like shelter and warmth.

I’m more surprised that people would want to live in cold conditions. Someone mentioned 14 or 15 degrees indoors?! Can’t be healthy or comfortable.

I understand some may have to put up with cold temperatures due to affordability but not out of choice.

I think aiming for 18 degrees is a happy medium.

I'm living the best life no heating under a warm blanket which is currently like being under a Teepee tent thanks to man's built-in wonder stick in my own deep thoughts.

Tested the central heating @ 30c for 30 minutes last week to check all the radiators were warming up properly for when we do need it on.

Set thermostat to 16c and hope to get through to November without having it click on, so sat in jumpers and hoodies & the missus bought a heated poncho from Lakeland which works out around 25p a night for 3 hours.

I guess that genetically we are evolved to survive in this temperate maritime climate but the body has been weakened by our own technology. Now we are dependent on it.
My Romanian dog is quite content, though.
