Carricks first game to be Preston

So he'll manage 5 games before the world cup break. Don't think we'll be able to really judge him for a while. We just have to try to get as many points as possible and get into that month off ASAP so we can have what is effectively going to be like another pre season. Probably have a couple of friendlies to keep the fitness up? Could be good for us, allow us to properly reset and let Carrick use the time away from league fixtures to imprint his philosophy onto the squad of players who haven't travelled away with their respective national teams. Then we come back early December at home to Luton, with England hopefully still in Qatar though I seriously doubt it, and fingers crossed we hit the ground running over Xmas and bring a few talented loan players in from United's academy

Yeah. " One member of the 41-year-old's initially intended backroom team ultimately decided against the move to Teesside for family reasons, thus delaying the process as a replacement was found."
I”m guessing that was Rene Meulensteen? Assuming he’s living in Australia atm
