Carrick is the right guy for the job, but he is learning how to manage, results & too many performances are not good enough ATM & this is, or should be, his big learning opportunity..

Team have figured out how to beat us at home - our squad is on a par with most of the league - not worse or better, so we have to find a flexible way to approach games.. ATM it's, possession football over - everything - & at home that is costing us massively..

I'm not sure how we can make it much different at home though. We don't currently have the pace to stretch the game by playing it into the channels and we can't lump it to a focal point and get up in support.
I think we need to just try and up the pace of everything we do and try and exploit the space that will be created. We are so slow and compact right now that once we lose the ball then the opposition are in on goal.
Results might not be much different, but at least we wouldn't be so easy to exploit.
I'd love to know how long it took for Plymouth to shoot from them getting the ball off us. It'll have been a handful of seconds every time.
Go more pragmatic! At least look at ways that make us difficult to score against. It's just too easy for everyone to play against us. We commit the full backs forward every match and leave ourselves 2 at the back every time we give it away.

The problem is that we don’t have the players to play the way MC wants
Although I thought Silvera on left and McGree on right was a bit strange
Next season will be different I think

I can't believe 33 posters on here would even consider sacking Carrick. I would like to think it was a knee jerk reaction to a terrible result and performance. I wonder if these same people wanted him sacked when we beat Leicester last week.

End of last season we all said, let’s watch us go next season 🥴

In, but I'm beginning to have my doubts.

I do feel he's been dealt a bad hand, taking into consideration the amount of injuries we've had, but good managers can still get the best out of what they're working with. Mowbray didn't have a striker at Sunderland for long periods last season but he still got them into the play-offs.

Carrick has shown stubbornness at times this season and frankly I've been baffled by some of his decision making recently.

He should definitely still be in charge by the start of next season (assuming we stay up), but if we get off to a bad start the daggers will be out.

39 people vited to sack Carrick. That is genuinely amusing. Hopefully Gibson isn't one of them.
Well when everyone is already pl$$ed off at the new ticket prices.............. and the team put in performance like that, he just may be.

Hardly motivation to renew today was it ☹️

Carrick is part of the problem, but the players are most at fault said it all along, suppose to be Professional football players ffs. Cant even make a pass ! IMO I love Carrick & want him to stay on but without investment what else can Carrick do ok he got tactics & lineup wrong today IMO

Season went before xmas IMO

RENEWING

Anyone voting out , today I'd suggest is trolling or a ' new member '

However.
This is Championship football, it's tough , grimey and needs pragmatism.
Rotating the likes of Azaz , Mcgree, Forss and Silvera as a man up top .. playing with their back against seasoned centre halves is naive.
It's one thing doing it in training , drilling at 80% physicality levels.
None of them have done it at this level.
And none have done it in their previous footballing career.

A really solid, disciplined , energetic performance and formation last week.
Changed it up to a blue print of "how to play against Boro 1st half ... See Bristol footage "

He's got a gash hand with injuries right now , but he needs to learn fast .
He either should be screaming at Gibson about what we need to ACTUALLY play 4 2 3 1 as a top six team ( because this squad isn't this ) and walk of his own accord if he isn't given a fair hand , or finding another way to use what he has.

Look where we are in the table, how many times this season have we had the worst half / performance people have seen? How many times have we said it’s ok as he will learn from this?

Carrick is the one picking baffling teams and trying to force them into his preferred formation. With the injuries we’ve had you would think we would be picking a formation which would suit the players available on the day but no - square pegs in round holes all over just to fit his preferred footballing way.
