Carrick to West Ham?

I think Carrick would be mad to leave us at this point. He has done well to a point but he has and still does make some questionable decisions, and has a fair bit of development to do still particularly in terms of developing a plan b. If he went to a Premiership team like West Ham at this point I could see him struggling a bit as he doesn't seem to really be able to organise a defence. Granted he could have a better defensive coach than Woody there, and has better players - but a big part of it is the 'Gung Ho' football we play in my opinion.

Wouldn't blame him for leaving if he's offered the job, but I imagine West Ham will be looking elsewhere than Carrick for their next manager.

Emery went to Villa. West Ham could attract a similar calibre of manager given their budget and the fact they're based in London

Carrick has invigorated the club since he's been here. I love him being our manager. His professionalism comes through both in his press conferences and his presence on the sideline. He's provided us some really exciting, entertaining football.

If an opportunity comes along at a Premier League Club like West Ham, and he decided to take it then I would wish him nothing but the best in his future. Especially if he seen the season out first before accepting it.

Honestly I can't see it, surely where they want to get, they'd want a manager with more experience/track record

Jobs are rarely available in the summer. Most jobs are available because a manager has been sacked mid-season. If we're going to lose him then the reality is that this time in the season is as likely as any.

I can't see West Ham getting rid of Moyes anyway but if they did it would be a great job for him to take. One with a good squad, decent prospects, no risk of relegation. Would be a perfect place to find his feet in the PL.

Carrick is still very unproven so I think he's more likely to be offered a job at a team that avoids relegation but under-performs like Bournemouth/Palace.

West Ham would be mental to sack David Moyes. He’s led them to a European trophy, three consecutive seasons of European football, 6th and 7th place finishes. This was AFTER they’d sacked him so they could appoint a fancy Continental manager, who delivered nowt and left a mess Moyes was reappointed to clear up.

They’re currently 6 points off the Champions League places, top of their Europa League group, in the League Cup quarters, and below the eight teams in the league you’d fully expect them to be below.

Sacking him now would be absolutely scandalous imo.

West Ham are an established premier league club, in European competitions and won a cup last year. Why would they go for a rookie manager who has done nothing just cos he played them for a bit 20 odd years ago.
Why would Chelsea appoint Lampard?

Why would Man Utd appoint Solsjkaer?

Why would Arsenal appoint Arteta?

All rookie managers with big reputations that were appointed at elite Premier League club that they played for.

I agree with this but we see scandalous sackings all the time. We seen one up the road last week.

if carrick would be daft enough to go there he will be back looking for work by next xmas. This is a team that just won a european trophy and are sitting top 10 in the PL and their fans still want more.

If we don't go up I can see Carrick leaving, but he wouldn't leave us half way through the season I think, I think he loves working with Boro, and having a chairman that's so supportive during the difficult times is a massive positive.
