Soooooo weird that I can't get the usual pre world cup excitement and tension...the usual lads banter about where we meeting to watch the England game isn't there....everyone seems flat....
Fifa are a disgusting bunch of w@@@@@rs....
Having it at Xmas is just too weird for words...maybe ill get I to it once it kicks off...but even the buzz around the England team just isn't there....

Everyone will froget the human rights abuses, the but time and the corruption that led to it when it starts.

Look forward to discussing Costa Rica v Benin or whatever. If England do well it will become the one of the greats

I'm really trying. I've been watching a number of build up programs (even Rob and Romesh) and bought a wallchart to try and get in the mood. I'm a bit more engaged than I was but I honestly couldn't tell you what days the England games are on which shows just how bothered I am.

Last time I was excited about a world cup was 1970, when I was 13 and we were the holders. We didn't qualify the next two and I was a bit old to get excited after that but I've watched and enjoyed them all since, and this will be the same, in fact I'll be able to watch more games than normal now that I'm retired.

It shouldn't have gone to Qatar but it shouldn't have been in USA or a second time to Mexico only 16 years after first being there.

There's a couple of decent Italia 90 docs on at the moment, ironically tapping into the current world cup excitement, one of which argues this was the last 'proper' WC and I agree.

Football lost something a long time ago for me, the corruption, thirst for power and profits have all tainted it, mostly at the fans expense.

I'll probably watch the England games, maybe some highlights, maybe I wont, I'm a bit ambivalent at the moment.

You seen the Phenomenon: Ronaldo documentary?

Some beauty footage of him as a young member of the Brazil squad in 94 then arriving at France 98 as the world's best player.

FRIGHTENING talent.

Been listening to some football related songs to get me in the mood.
It could footballing wise be a good World Cup, it’s not at the end of a long season so players should be fresher.
