Bumping Up Old Threads

Not sure Andy Preston should be given space on here unless he can show us who funds him, and maybe brings Dave Allan’s paperwork to the party.

That might get the thread pulled…

On Friday I mentioned that Rob gives Andy Preston a platform on here.. spamming the board with Pro Preston Propaganda would perhaps be a more accurate description. That thread was locked and now we have this..

I’m not saying the two are connected.. but they might be. Obviously Rob and Andy are connected.. I mean the post and now the suggestion of banning posts from being bumped, and locking posts etc etc
Not connected at all - a site user spotted there is a software add on and posted this as a suggestion of an improvement this week and I put it everyone and obviously it is not something people want.

For the avoidance of doubt; as I said in an earlier post it was me that posted it in the feedback thread. I was reading a thread, saw complaints about it, checked if there was an add on and there was, so I suggested it.

Seems everyone finds them really useful now despite everyone complaining when it's been done in the past 😂

That could actually be really useful if thread tags were implemented as people could ignore politics threads for example, without the need to use separate forums, something i think many would potentially welcome.

Can you not just.. ignore a thread?
I can walk to town but a car or bike makes things easier.

Nothing wrong with QOL improvements to everyday interactions, otherwise we'd all still be using major-domo mailing lists to talk about the boro.

For me there are some threads that I would absolutely never interact with, basically every sticky thread, every press release, anything to do with wordle and it's derivatives etc. just makes it easier if you can disappear them.

I don't have that add on at the moment.
And do you know that would be welcomed by the majority?
Is it something anyone could do for themselves.

As Chutney says, it would only impact posters who want to use it.

I'd be thankful for it as it would allow me to remove threads and topics I don't want to see from the front page (largely politics).
I've been dragged in to arguments that I'd sooner avoid because I keep clicking on certain threads against my better judgement.

Would also have the added bonus that I could take a few posters off ignore that I don't really mind, but they post a lot of threads on topics I don't want to see.

If anything, it's less obtrusive than the Ignore user button.

If you don't want to ignore any threads, you don't have to, and it has no impact on any other users if you do.
