Bruno Fernandez red card

The fact this has been rescinded should mean those officials as VAR should be heavily punished.

They don’t just get 1 opportunity to view the incident at 100mph like the on field ref does. They get multiple chances to review the incident at a number of different angles.

They had no excuse on Sunday.

Shambolic.

Can he, i stand corrected if that’s the case!

I thought only if directed by VAR club at Stockley park? Has this ever happened?

The referee only goes to the monitor if he wants to go to the monitor.

The VAR officials can recommend he looks, he can ignore them.
He can also go over whether they recommend it or not, if he thinks he made an error or missed something.

has this ever happened then? I don’t recall seeing it, only if instructed to take a second look by VAR, at which point they just change the decision every time

I've seen multiple referees stick with their original decision after going to the monitor.

I can't think of any occasions where a referee has refused to go over to the monitor, but they'd have to be incredibly stubborn to not want to review their decision of their colleagues were recommending it.

No idea if I've seen a referee go over by his own choice without bejng recommened, we both might have done, but we're not privy to what the officials say to each other until long after the matches occur and that's only in cases where a serious error was made.

I expect this red card will be one of the decisions where they let us listen to the audio in the next few day/weeks.
