Brexit - deal or no deal?

Boromart, I am not sure that is even the case. Each side wants something out of the deal and there is clearly a compromise to be made. Hopefully it is reached before too much damage is done to the poorer folk in the UK.
The ERG Tory mps aren’t interested in compromise, they want their own way or no deal and couldn’t care less about people losing their jobs.
That’s why I said earlier, this country is now run by ultra ring wing extremists who lie to the majority and hoodwink them that they are moderates.
Incredible

That ignores the fact that the ERG cannot keep johnson in no 10. Hence his conundrum. He can string both sides along until Jan 1st then reality bites.

Is the record stuck on 350m a week for the NHS ?
Or we’ve got our country back bollox!
Hope you’re one of those workers that will be working longer hours and have little working rights in 5 years. 👍
Always nice to see the hard lefties wishing woe on those that don't agree with them.
Its a trait that seems to go with the ideology

Signs today that the French will be willing to compromise on an agreement, but not in a rushed way prior to 31 December. Negotiations over the next few days may be to allow trade in some less restricted way to allow negotiations to continue into the new year.

That’s spot on laughing.
Johnson has to either keep his extremist mps content and ruin the economy or finish his premiership and do some good by the country (some good because any deal now is going to be terrible because it’s still a hard Brexit versus a no deal Brexit) no deal Brexit being a disaster versus hard Brexit being terrible

Well, it would appear that the two clauses removed by the Lords are on Monday's order paper. Due for debate Tuesday.
It's been quoted that Johnson did offer to leave them dormant as part of negotiations. Wonder when they were entered for Tuesday's business.
He could be at it again.

As a massive pro European you sort of want to see people who voted Brexit purely on a xenophobic basis suffer from us being dumped in the cold - Brown’s line today about Johnson being the most isolated PM in history with zero friends around the world was spot on. However the pragmatist and sensible side of every Brit has got to hope and pray we don’t end up sheet creek without a paddle and face additional financial hardship and isolation whilst trying to cope with the worst recession in history. We must agree a deal

Duffman
You forgot we are being ran by Gove raab patel. The whole cabinet are arch Brexiteers and their ideology is all that counts
Pragmatism gets Johnson the sack in quick time so let’s get it done and watch the millions who were lied to and continually lied too, to this day enjoy the basket case that will be the uk 🇬🇧 including trouble in NI

I think that is very unlikely bear. There was a leaked report that the EU intended to let us lie in our bed for 6 months and then get back to negotiations. This is also very unlikely. The lack of a trade deal is damaging to the EU also. It may take into mid next year for a bear bones deal to be reached then bit by bit we will move back to a single market model. Its too damaging to both sides to let it slide. Also Johnson will be gone by the spring hits tenure is just not sustainable if the tories want any chance of another term in government.
Sorry like, the Tories are riddled with hard right extremists who want a USA model for the UK which means streamlined public services and reduced worker rights (framed by yanks as ‘reduced red tape’)
Either the people of this country get smart and vote for starmers uk vision (which they won’t because they are so thick) or we head towards the American model. Everything privatised including nhs

Duffman by their very nature pragmatism and ideology don't make good bedfellows as Johnson is finding out. Getting out of the EU isn't even his idea he hijacked it to get the keys to no 10. Now he is knacked because he has to be pragmatic and the ideology on either side of the tory party, when it comes to the EU, will not allow that pragmatism.

I assume you are not thick.

They never learn do they. Perhaps if you stop treating the electorate , you know those that gave you the worst result since 1932 , with contempt you might get somewhere.
You keep thinking the electorate are thick and coming out and saying so you might even break that record.

If anger is an energy then if you can find a way to harness it you might be on to something.

I'm in the fortunate position of controlling the number of hours I work myself, which is very few these days. And I consider those hours of 'work' a labour of love.
You should try it. You will find it very liberating.

I'm alright. F everyone else. Glad you've affirmed my opinion of you.

It's just wanting those who voted for it to take ownership.
Is it. I didn't vote for it. And if I had how exactly would I 'take ownership'
EFL's interpretation and perhaps yours too is to see those that did vote for it to suffer with some sort of punishment. Comes across as a bit twisted to me
