Brewdog & the £15,000 solid gold can competition

I really liked the Brewdog story and their beer, but boy are they having shoite few weeks.

Just pay the competition winners the 15k and pay the bullied staff the compensation for christ sake.

Otherwise I will buy no more of their stuff

I've always liked BD, their story and their marketing activity. They were my go-to for mail-order beer in first lockdown, but this does leave a bad taste. I'm definitely avoiding them for the time being, plenty of other good craft brewers out there.

Have to agree. Think they've played such a huge part in bringing it to the masses ans they have some decent beers but there are so many better.
I think they were ahead of their time, before I started drinking them at Uni, I used to drink fosters/carling for instance. But over the past 10 years, so many new craft brewers have popped up the options are endless.

The whole food and drink sector has been revolutionised in the past decade and its almost becoming the thing to do for people wanting to get out of the city and leave their financial jobs to move home and launch a F+D startup. I'm lucky I've worked with quite a few of these brands over the years and I always find the founder's stories intriguing.

It's pretty blanet false advertising of the prize. Then again I don't know anyone who check small print or T&Cs of such things.

The wording very much suggests it's a solid gold can. I think the best and frankly easiest thing to do is apologise (they have) and just give the guy 15k. I imagine 15k is pretty small for a company like them and it's good 'PR' rather than negative.

They probably spent 15k on legal assistance.

The owner posted a LinkedIn update saying he'd paid £500k and mentioned it was over 2 and a half years wages for him, completely failing to mention he's co-owner of a company valued at 2 billion with a personal fortune of around 250 million...

Complete tool.
