Break down recovery what do you pay?

I pay £12 a month for Halifax Ultimate Reward account and you get the below:

I've used the breakdown cover twice and it's been excellent each time.

But it doesn't have the European cover the OP wants and it's £17 pcm not £12 pcm unless you pay in £1,500+, stay in credit, and EITHER spend £500+ using the debit card OR keep £5,000+ in the account at all times.

The OP asked what people paid for breakdown cover, so I said what I paid.

£12/month (with other benefits) if the OP hits the requirements compared to £30/month might mean a separate European policy is worthwhile. Also, the OP mentioned cover at home, which this policy covers.

I am with this lot, it is very cheap (£22 for the year) & I admit I was scepitcal. Broke down last week, and the service was top notch. Phone call was straight forward, was promised a rescue in 1 hour, got a text with a map & tracker showing the rescue vehicle on its way to me, and taken straight home - bloody brilliant

Start Rescue - home start, roadside assistance and recovery in the UK is around £40 a year for me.

Luckily never had to use them, but Which recommended.

I have rac i wont renew took 5 hours to be rescued the other week
Do not touch the RAC with a friggin barge pole

Yep seems you 2 are correct, been waiting since 6am for the wifes car to be recovered to a garage, current ETA has just been updated to 3pm to 5pm, garage will be closed by the time they get here and will have to start the process again tomorrow no doubt, absolute sh1te.

Don't listen to the app the eta times given are only targets most likely you wont even be assigned. I had to ring up i laid it on thick and they assigned a local recovery company as they had no Rac rescue available.

Seems your right, rang straight after you commented, said it would likely be between 5 and 6pm and they couldn’t do anything sooner. ETA just updated to 7pm to 9pm. Absolutely terrible.

I pay about £35 a year. It's one of those that get local breakdown to help out

Used them twice in three years and have had some out within an hour and a half

I called to cancel with the AA and got offered a for £9 a month and the first month free.

The excess of £40 for werescueyourcar and the bad reviews on trustpilot put me off.
