Bournemouth spent more than Real Madrid

you'll laugh when u see our latest "ground improvements". they're making a food beer tent behind the temporary stand behind one goal. and they're trying to flog £100 "upgrades" to tickets for all you can eat " 'stadium food' & booze"..... how much crap can someone eat & drink pre-match? all going a bit american-corporate currently.

Clubs like Bournemouth are getting £125m a season from Sky, just for been in the Premier League.

The average PL player is worth about £30m these days so £300m to assemble a team over 10 years doesn't seem crazy. Teams like Bournemouth also don't have the luxury of being able to sell the players they don't want for big money. Madrid do tend to buy for long term though and they will be spending significantly more on wages than Bournemouth will be. Madrid's revenue is probably 5x what Bournemouth's is but I bet they are still spending beyond their means more than Bournemouth are.

I don't really feel like this is particularly telling tbh. £294m net spend for a team largely in the Premier League over the last 10 years seems fine really. Especially considering they don't ever really have players with the resale value that the likes of Real Madrid have to bring down their net spent. They're not really a Brighton who buy smart and recoup a massive profit because they're no longer really in a position to be buying players with an eye on not being relegated. Bournemouth spend relatively average modern day prices but sign several players between the 10-25m range. Their record sale is Nathan Ake at about 40m, and after that it's Danjuma for about 20m.

Comparatively, in the last 10 years Real Madrid have sold Ronaldo for 100m, Di Maria for 65m, Casemiro for 60m, Morata twice for a combined like 85m, Hakimi for 40m, Odegaard for 35m, Reguilon for 30m, Kovacic for 40m.

Yes plucky little Bournemouth though don’t let the truth ruin that myth.

All in a ground that holds crowds that would make Hartlepool blush.

But yes plucky little Bournemouth
Is that the Bournemouth that you keep telling us are a much smaller club than Boro and that Tav was a fool to move to?

Stoke had a Net spend over £140m of Southampton's.. this summer alone! lol

seriously tho.. just shows how much we did need to sell Akpom and how the transfers of Giles, Ramsey & Archer were complete non starters.

How up to date are those figures? It's widely reported that Chelsea have spent over £1b since the new owner came in. Or does this reflect the fact that large proportions of those fees are yet to be paid?
Net spend so it's the difference between the money raised by a club through player sales and money spent by a club on purchasing new footballers
