Bournemouth down

I think a lot of the dislike of Bournemouth in my eyes is be0cause of the media narrative they are a plucky little club when in fact they were as well resourced as any club in the championship that season. I dont really understand how they met FFP with such low crowds in the championship

for me, footy "hatred" etc is a complex & multi-level thing. I think (hope?) most footy fans at the deepest level have a love & begrudging respect for other fans, because we are all cut from the same cloth. every club has a range of fans, some we like, some we despise, be it politics, attitude or watever. we tend to like the same things - escapism, loyalty to the thing we've loved all our lives, beer, saturday afternoon entertainment etc. but we have to have other levels that make us dislike other teams - thats the whole point! it can be jealousy, irritating individuals, local stuff, past violence, bad personal experiences. harry arters diving was embarrassing, and it was cheating. lots of players do it - we love it when we get away with it, hate having it done to us - again, thats the point. var has ruined it a bit by taking away the "getting away it" aspect (possibly!). I dislike teams we've had historical battles with (and lost too usually), yet when I've met their fans face to face, annoyingly they are often decent people - I usually like them more than the bormuff fans I mix with every week, a lot of whom are total ****.. but maybe thats beer affecting my judgement. as for all the financial stuff in football - theres not a lot your average fan can do about that these days, and I am sure a lot goes on we never know about. its cheating on another level, I'm sure - I hate it, but what can you do. anyway, speech over.

Yes they may have battered us but there is also an art to defending & keeping a clean sheet when under the cosh, as much as I agree with your comments regarding consistency & attacking football, it doesn't give any team the right to cheat to win a game
😇
What has the “art to defending & keeping a clean sheet” got to do with this debate?

Show me where I've shown any bitterness towards Bournemouth, or to any Bournemouth player on any thread

My post was in reference to a a poster that, irrespective of team, or football played it doesn't give them the right to win by a penalty if earned through cheating

It was not specifically aimed at Bournemouth, or any player, I've got nothing but admiration for Bournemouth or Burnley or Sheff Utd, though if you want to take it as such feel free
It’s not right, of course it isn’t...I can’t see anyone claiming otherwise. The point being if you disliked every club that a player who dived then you wouldn’t be left with many!

Please show me where I have stated such dislike for Bournemouth, or any club

The point I was originally making was about people being bitter towards other clubs. You replied to it with a load of irrelevant waffle about “defending and clean sheets”. Apologies I just took it that you disagreed with me. I’m not sure what you were try to say reading back🤔

Far too much common sense there you Bormuff nobhead!

I never fully understood the issue with them trying it on with all the tumbling.

Just think about it. To get those free kicks and penalties, no matter whether honourable or not, you have to be in possession during attacking play in and around the box.

What were we doing at that time? Adomah to the corner. Kill the ball. Wait for the marking. Loft in a ball to a lone striker who would inevitably not get it as an opposition defender heads it clear.

As breathtakingly exciting as that Brighton match was, it would have been nice to have secured automatic promotion a couple of weeks earlier thanks to a few generously awarded dead balls.
