Bolasie wants £50k per week!

I think we would all LIKE £50k per week.

Who is going to pay anywhere near that for him? He is not going to get a prem side signing him up and that leaves the Championship, none of which are going to pay that. Perhpas he will go off to USA or somewhere else.
 
Of course it's not true, he'll be looking around the 30k mark, he knows his gravy train is over, he knows that his expectations need resetting. He's not that daft and his agent won't be either.

Depends, but I'd guess 20k plus a big promotion bonus would be the best we can offer......but other than going to some football backwater like the US or middle east, or maybe someone like Sheff Utd giving him a year contract, he won't get that 30k either. It's a year of compromise for everyone. I hope he decides to stay because he seems to have enjoyed the last 6 months. I noticed he tweeted something about anyone wants their shirt signing after the match, in a safe and secure way, then he's happy to do it....which sounds like he is most likely off.
 
He's been on 80k a week for 4 years. So as a free you can technically demand a decent wage as the club signing you isn't paying a transfer fee. I imagine Britt will get 30k at many clubs due to no signing on fee.

I genuinely believe Bolasie will get 30-40k at a few clubs. So he's well out of our range.

I would say 10-15 at best and he's not going to go from 80 to 15😂
 
There won’t be big offers for this type of player any more. Only if they take the money in Qatar, China etc.
If you’re not in the thoughts of your prem manager, you’ll be hopping from loan to loan until your contract ends. The sheer number of out of contract players demonstrates that clubs outside the prem. cannot and will not take a punt at excessive wages, with the notable exception of the parachute clubs and the rulebreakers Derby/Villa).
We are a big club in the Champo. If he values his career, he’ll take a big pay cut. If it’s just money, he’ll be elsewhere

who exactly is going to pay him that? Same with Britt at 30k? Unless there is a suitor it isn't happening. Bolasie has barely played for 18 months, Britt has been awful for 18. Just because they previously earned a lot, doesn't mean someone will be daft enough to do it again.
 
I don't think players and agents have woken up to the new financial reality of the championship yet.

I think there may well be a few big name players taking a reality check and agreeing contracts way below what they were expecting.

I'd love bolasie to stay but he wasn't stand out exceptional like a Ramirez or Merson at champo level. He was much more dangerous in the air than I was expecting by the way.
 
It's not as ridiculous as it first appears. If you average out Britt's transfer fee that's about 75k a week on top of his wages. Clubs look at the total cost over the contract period, including transfer fees, expected resale values etc. He might well get that somewhere.

The only clubs in the Championship with that kind of money will be those with parachute payments or those who cheat.
