The club have completed the loan signing of Everton winger Yannick Bolasie until the end of the season.

The 31-year-old joined up with his new team-mates at Rockliffe on Thursday morning after completing the formalities of his move to Teesside.

Bolasie brings a wealth of experience, having clocked up over 450 career appearances, including nine years as a Premier League player.

The DR Congo international - he has scored nine goals in 40 appearances for his country - enjoyed the most successful spell of his career at Crystal Palace, where he made almost 150 appearances and played under current Boro boss Neil Warnock.

The Boro manager says his arrival is a big boost.

“I’ve known Yannick for many years,” he said. “I asked him if he could help us out until the end of the season and get some fitness in at the same time.

“We can’t expect wonders but he’s a good lad and he can play different positions for me. He’ll be good in the dressing room and it’s a big boost for us.”

Well he is here and I really hope he can help.
Because on last night's showing, we need all the help we can get right now.

If we can get two more in before Tuesday it might just steady the ship. Lets hope we get through Saturday unscathed.

I think many (including myself) are a bit 'meh' but let's see what he can do. I can't be anywhere near fit as not played since March. That said he's 'available' for Saturday.

He could be that random signing who changes the whole dynamic of the side. We will probably be pleading for him to sign on a free after a month. I for one will be one of the first to apologise if he's class.

I read the interview and he says yes looking at 3-4. I'm not sure if that's for one position but says he isn't looking for a CB.

I don't think Spence got a ringing endorsment as he said 'we need a right back' 😂

Just heard his interview. Obviously, you know, obviously, ready to go and looking forward to getting started, obviously.

Am glad he's in, btw, I just love football player interviews, they're funny.

I have always liked Bolasie. He is capable of both the sublime and the ridiculous mind. He is a winger but can play up front too. He is Brownes temporary replacement and if he can find his mojo, then we have an upgrade. He will be wanting a contract somewhere next season, so has a point to prove.
Hopefully he has people clambering for his signature after the play-off final 😜

I feel sorry for some when they do interviews, e.g. Oliver Burke last night after the Man Utd game. You can have all the media training in the world but if you're really not comfortable with it all, you'll just end up freezing and scrabbling around in the dark for cliches and soundbites. I reckon that's what I'd be like anyway 🤣

Warnock won’t want to put any pressure on the lad, he’s hardly kicked a ball for months and he’s 31 years old.

He's differnet to anything we have got in the squad and gives us another attacking dimension, don't think fitness is a real issue with the luxury of 5 subsitutes, he can come on for 30 minutes when defenders are tired, we have lacked a 'game changer' from the bench, must have been a dozen games this season where we have needed something different up front to change the game, Patrick Roberts hasn't been the answer, hopefully Bolasie will change that.
