Bolasie, Akpom & Spence

Only the latter two are our players, both should not get a starting position in the team again, I’d rather play grant hall up front as a target man than see akpom as starting striker again

Bolasie he was playing CF, he isn't a CF, he's certainly knocked another 2k off what we are prepared to pay him.

He's got enough in his locker not to embarrass himself in the champo as CF
 
I only watched the second half so missed the displays of these three.

Some of the performances were very poor. Howson off the pace, takes an age to see a pass. McNair great at running in straight lines but is easy to go past, his delivery is very good all the same. Fletcher his normal uncompetitive self. Mendez Laing nowhere near match fit. Saville slow.

Nothing from them to suggest we have a base to build from.

Only two players look to be in control with the ability to look up, Bola and Hall.

Watmore I'd persevere with, his positional sense and first touch are excellent, but when he goes he's going alone, the others are miles off the pace.
 
Spence is simply brainless. That sounds harsh but he's just clueless.

I thought it was interesting when we changed formation against Stoke. Warnock 'joked' that spence had forgot everything they had worked on in the week.... That's pretty damming.

Akpom is fecking woeful. He won't score again this season. He simply never looks like scoring. That said the gaffer bought him. He can blame anyone for Britt or Fletcher. Akpom is on him and 2.6mil Is a big outlay.

We are basically playing without a genuine CF. I think it's clear he's probably had a chat with Britt and he's maybe done a Rudy and got the impression he's not up for it as he's probably got stuff lined up for the summer. That said we are still paying him 35k a week for 4 months.

I'd just stick Watmore up top for 8 games. He's not prolific but he's honest and quick with decent movement. Who knows maybe even Fletcher has said he's leaving. It doesn't leave us with any options.

I'm all for saying our forwards are dross... They are. That said the gaffer is pretty publicly hanging them out to dry. I'm not sure if it helps? I'm all for tough love and stating the obvious but maybe they won't respond to it.

I'm sorry but we are just so inconsistent. The defeats against Brum / Rotherham and Derby are very much as bad. You simply don't know who's turning up.

Still an improvement on last season and still 'in it'....just.

What's going on with some of the champo pitches? Derby was awful.

I'm guessing lack of maintenance due to covid quick turnaround? The Riverside keeps cutting up and players slipping.
 
Spence is awful every week. He is a fancy Dan with zero output. Akpom is woeful as is Fletcher. We have no centre forwards at all.

Cost of maintenance mate. Honestly that's what I hear on the grapevine
